Skins were 800m and that included Fedex Field 21 yrs ago.and to think certain teams were bought for under 400 million like 25yrs ago
correct and it's not closewill be the largest deal in sports history (not just nfl but all sports)
I was thinking about mavs when i wrote it. I think cuban bought them for around 300 mil for majority ownershipSkins were 800m and that included Fedex Field 21 yrs ago.
really odd for 2 RBs to be on there
Not if Joe bought Amazon sharesi saw 10 years and knew he'd be over 40m/yr
to think joe flacco's 5yr 120m deal in 2013 was a massive deal at that point in time - the numbers we're dealing with now are absurd by comparison
@cdp - maybe this is what you were thinking of when you said you thought you couldnt have more than 5 year deals - basically looks like the whole signing bonus has to be accounted on the cap over the first 5 years
As others have mentioned the bonus proration expires after the 2024 season so there might be a player or mutual termination clause after that year to allow Mahomes to re-up for more guaranteed money and/or sign a new deal if the cap increases significantly, especially if the contract is not tied to the cap.Thanks. I wonder how they set up the contract. He must have an termination option. Injury guarantees are low compared to the total volume.
I could care less with $370 mil in guarantees.I guess Mahomes and the Chiefs are really sure the cap is going way up.
Salary cap inflation? Presumably they can build better team around him if his pay doesn't go up with cap increases. So what is the plus side for the chiefs in this deal. I don't understand. It's not like mahomes wouldn't sign a 10 year 50 mil/yr fully guaranteed deal two years from now even if he manages to win two more superbowls. They are just taking on two years of injury risk. The only QB who could set the market and raise the QB rate between now and then is Dak, and he's definitely not making much more than 40,if that.
