Pretty sure we could have paid, but we wouldn't have Earl. I have full confidence that that pass rush will be addressed this off season and will be much more effective rushing 4. No way Wink leaves after we get him two solid edge guys.

we did not - certainly not without also losing CJ and the other guys and not getting ET and maybe ingram etc.
I think what the first 4 weeks of the season showed us was just how valuable CJ as the mike LB was to this defence - we've got by with some veteran personnel and the secondary getting astronomically better but CJ was severely missed early on - probably more than ZDS has been missed albeit it is kind of amazing to think how good this defence would be if you added ZDS to it

This version of ZDS would allow our pass-rush to finally allow our defense to really be that dominant defense we so badly want to see.......which in turn would make Lamar have more games of 4th quarter rests.

ZDS was used much different in Wink's defense than how he was used in Green Bay. Really happy for ZDS and his found success in Green Bay and although I'm sorry we had to lose him, I'd rather extend Judon than ZDS.
 
A part of me kind of thinks that the Cowboys might actually be dumb enough to keep Garrett which I find hilarious.
