Around the NFL: News and Rumors

when i said vaccination's the solution - the reason that we're now getting new waves of infections right now is because of omicron which has emerged likely from somewhere in the global south where there's much worse access to vaccines

we live in a globalised world where isolationism isnt really a realistic strategy anymore - if the US, UK, Germany etc have started hitting saturation point on vaccines then they should send the millions of spare doses to the global south to help prevent future variants emerging
Right but in the US and in developed nations that have widespread vaccines available, Omicron isn't going to be something that drives whether or not somebody gets vaccinated. Especially when early reports suggest its a milder virus.

i mean it might in the UK where we've just started having the government start moving us to more restrictions and basically disincentivize people going out during the most important time of the year for the whole hospitality sector for the 2nd year in a row with a looming threat of further restrictions

and in the rest of Europe where they've massively increased restrictions also due to the most recent covid wave (and that was before omicron was detected)

when the easy answer to prevent these things is 1) increase vaccine uptake and/or 2) give extra vaccines to less developed countries with low vaccine rates then id expect at least some drive towards that

but you're right that it's unlikely that changes anything - and i think that that indicates a clear failure in messaging (a failure in messaging that i think has been going on the entire pandemic with people in power who fundamentally dont understand the reasons why people act the way they do - or they dont care... which is probably more likely given that the pandemic has only served to increase wealth inequality and lined rich people's pockets)

I mean... it is a cultural thing. The US citizens don't treat Government oversight the same way many European nations do, which is why some of the restrictions you're seeing globally will never fly here.

Big Blow to the Bucs offense, Chris Godwin out for the year with a torn ACL. He was on the Franchise Tag this season and was set to become a Free Agent.

packers with a chance to get key players back from injury like bakhtiari, jaire alexander and a couple of others - this is probably the best opportunity they've had for a while to get back to a superbowl

Oh come on.... where the hell is this horseshoe the Steelers have. Seahawks without Wilson and now COVID is depleting the Chiefs roster for them.
