Yep, I totally agree. It kind of guarantees he will be there awhile, since the contract is guaranteed.
 
Gruden was making 5mil a year. That 5 mil includes stability, happiness and 10x less stress than a HC so in order for him to give up all that plus more... they had to pay him double. He deserves that contract for sure

the yearly amount isnt what's getting people its the guaranteed 10 year contract - 10 years is ridiculous

It also helps that Nagy was a big fan of Trubisky during the draft process. Trubisky visited the Chiefs leading up to the Draft last year and Nagy became intrigued with him during the visit. Now they just got to get him some weapons and a better offensive line around him.
 
so panthers get rid of mike shula and ken dorsey as OC and Qb coordinator to add to the fact that they likely lose their DC - that's a lot of organisational turnover for a team that just gave its head coach an extension

Report is Ron Rivera wants to replace him with Norv Turner who has been out of the league for over a year.

Norv would be an interesting hire. He’s a very good OC, although I’m not sure he would do zone read as much as they currently do. He’s mainly air Coryell.
 
Seattle making headlines and big major coaching changes. Seahawks fire Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell, OL Coach Tom Cable, QB Coach Carl Davis. Defensive Coordinator Kris Richard is also on the way out.

Ol Pete is about to be the last one to be fired if things don't improve in 2018

teflon dom was fired in green bay
but teflon tom also didnt make it out of this offseason - tom cable had to go and probably should have gone a lot sooner tbh

it feels like a lot of long-term head coaches are using this offseason to shake up their staffs - essentially doing the opposite of what harbs has done i.e. stuck to his guns

I’m glad Roman has been signed, because he would have fit right in as OC of the Seahawks
 
Panthers finalizing deal with Norv Turner to become new OC. Also, Norv's son Scott Turner, the QB coach at Michigan is leaving to become the Panthers QB coach.

That will be interesting to follow. Both how Norv changes that offense and how Scott Turner does with Cam. Scott Turner has been qb coach of the Vikings, WR coach of the Browns and Qualify Control of the Panthers.
 
The Packers have signed Joe Philbin to be their new offensive coordinator, and replacing Dom Capers at Defensive Coordinator is former Browns HC Mike Pettine. So now the Packers have new coordinators on both sides of the ball. @Ice Bowl Thoughts?

The most telling part for me is that both coordinators and GM were replaced after they missed on playoffs for the first time since forever AND did not have one of the best QBs of all time in 9 of 16 games due to injury.

That's what I like. No excuses.
