Around the NFL: News and Rumors

The most telling part for me is that both coordinators and GM were replaced after they missed on playoffs for the first time since forever AND did not have one of the best QBs of all time in 9 of 16 games due to injury.

That's what I like. No excuses.

The Packers were probably going to fired their defensive coordinator even if they did make the playoffs. I don't get why they fired their offensive coordinator because their head coach is the one that calls the plays.

McCarthy wasn't calling the plays all season - took over later in the year.

Teflon Dom should have been fired by the packers years ago at DC - I wouldn’t necessarily say that move is indicative of them changing things just because they missed the playoffs

I think what you saw from the packers this year (and the reason why they are changing so much internally) is because they finally saw how much Rodgers papered over the cracks in their roster and just how big those cracks were - without Rodgers this packers team had one of the worst rosters in the nfl and it showed - part of that is player acquisition but some of it will be coaching too hence why both of those organisational areas are being significantly shaken up

Exactly. And that's why I wanted the Ravens to recognise this same pattern and act while we are still mediocre. Packers might have lousy defense but there's no offense worse than ours. And defense turned out to still be too dependable on a single player, which was on coaches, for not recognising on time what they have in Humphrey (I'm talking Steelers game in particular).

Um what? He didn’t say anyone was stupid for wanting Fangio? I’m not sure if you totally misunderstood what @Dom McRaven said or...

Yeah. Stupid fans.
Why would anybody want a coach whose defense could not be beat by any of AFC North teams? What were we thinking?

What I was saying is that I didn't see anything official about Fangio being interested in the Ravens DC job. Heck, I don't think that there were any reports of us showing interest in him. The wishful thinking part was just us wanting him when nothing was really official. If I am wrong, please let me know, but I surely wasn't calling anyone or implying anyone was stupid for wanting him (I would've liked him too).

Are you addressing me or the other poster?
If it's me, explanation isn't needed - my original response was sarcasm about the whole situation.
