Around the NFL: News and Rumors

New Eagles DE Michael Bennett was indicted on felony charges for injuring an elder woman. Bennett attended the Super Bowl as a spectator and rushed the field and was told he couldn't access the field from where he tried to enter. Instead of listening, he pushed her aside injuring her in the process.

A 66 year old paraplegic woman. First of all, why the hell is the NFL using someone like that for security.

Second of all, why the hell did it take 13 months for charges to be brought? And I know Bennet shouldn’t have done that...but come on. Pushing someone is a felony?

this is a weird looking story - like bennett really doesnt have good form but this seems weird - why would a paraplegic old woman be security and why did it take 13 months - and why was bennett even there...

it's a bizarre situation that doesnt seem like an arrest is necessary and if it is necessary then it shouldnt have taken 13 months

obviously there are no facts coming out about the incident yet and bennett has a chequered history but something seems off about this and obviously i could be wrong but this seems bizarrely targeted... is he really that stupid?

@Dom McRaven

CBS Sports' ***** ** ******* reports it's "less than a sure thing" free agent Ndamukong Suh signs with the Jets.

Guess, he'll be a Jet.

It’s ironic because as soon as the jets emerged they made more logical sense - ndamukong suh’s mo is to take the most money (fair enough) and that is almost certainly gonna be the jets

According to NFL.com, there hasn't been a scheduled visit yet. Evidently, "Suh told Yahoo Sports' Jordan Schultz the New York Jets emerged as a serious contender for his services." Just because it's the Jets, I could see them whiffing on Suh making [profanity purposely deleted] correct for the first time in ages.

The Eagles in my mind are a four letter word and should be banned from the board as much as JLC
This is a Ravens forum not a Skins forum. We don’t hate the Eagles here. lol In fact as you know our head coach came from the Eagles. I don’t care for their fans but they had one helluva squad last year and fully deserved to win the SB.

lol, the Skins are a four letter word as well. I hated the Eagles long before Harbaugh was a coach there. As a matter of fact I respect their coaching staff, from Andy Reid to the current one. However, when you go back to the Buddy Ryan days and the body bag game. That's why I hate them. It wouldn't have mattered if it happened to my team or another team. They have classless fans and don't deserve my respect. jmo .

Rams discussing trade for OBJ with the Giants. Giants are asking for a first round PLUS in exchange for OBJ.

you gotta think the rams cant get Suh and Odell so itll be one or the other - but give odell to mcvay in that offence and that could be unreal

A 1st plus is too expensive. OBJ only got one year left on his rookie contract. Rams can't pay Peters, Donald and OBJ.

they've got 2 years left of control on peters i think, donald i imagine will blow the market out of the water, and odell they'll sign this year but the way their cap is organised i think they dont have a huge number of future commitments so they could definitely i think find a way to pay all 3 of those guys - but a 1st is probably still too expensive - if jimmy g only fetched a 2nd (albeit for only half a year rather than a full year - but he's also a franchise qb) i imagine obj is gonna fetch not much more than a 2nd...

Common sense prevails - from Kimberley Jones on twitter: "NYG are not shopping Odell Beckham Jr. They know they are better with a healthy OBJ. A trade “probably won’t happen,” per source.

Teams were probably just calling to check the price tag, you never know. The Giants without OBJ are so much worse. No way they trade him.

btw: Wilson and Bradford will not survive this season after the Rams signed Suh.

Giants are full of shit. They wanted the trade but asked too much. Instead the Rams just signed Suh.

im so glad the ravens arent playing the NFC West this year - if we could have avoided the NFC South too that would have been ideal - those 2 divisions are gonna do serious damage this year

I think the NFC south will reel back after how successful they were last year. I honestly might sound a bit optimistic here but the AFC north might actually be the best division in the league next year if the Browns keep going where theyre headed
