so on redzone today they just gave freddie kitchens the call of the day for challenging DPI on a mayfield turnover

my question is: why did he have to challenge it? it should be part of the automatic review process already shouldnt it given that all turnovers are reviewed automatically...

am i missing something because this is not the first time this has happened this season where a coach has thrown a challenge flag on a play that should have been automatically checked
