The deadline pass for the trading team to restructure / absorb the $$$ of the player’s salary.

So unless we restructure people on our side, them big name players are likely out for us.

The restructuring of contracts for reasonable size acquisitions (like $5-6M take-on) doesn't bother me IF it is offset with the pick compensation.
i.e. I'm not giving up like a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Henry AND paying the rest of his salary. If I have to pay their comp, I want a discount on the trade asset.

So like if you tell me I only have to give up a 4th or 5th rounder to pay half a season for Barkley, I'll sign off on that. I'm not signing off on it for a 2nd or 3rd rounder, though.
