Signings, Cuts, Trades

I’m done with this dude. I imagine the board having him on ignore makes the boards a better place, so I’m gonna join in.

Yall still discussing the browns?? Lol If we should be discussing any rival it should the stealers. ben and company should be out for blood and the team is healthy. For some odd reason I keep reading things like they have no RB behind Conner..smh seems no one pays attention here. Oh and as for Damaris Randall not being good etc I think I read hes not better than Averett...wow. Again lol. Not that it matters anyway but a good player on a 1 year deal who could and probably will end up starting for us. As for MVS hes exactly the kinda WR we use. Deep ball once or twice a game and that's it. Heck yall act like we have receivers catching 10 balls a game. Dude has shown mad skills and top 10 game speed. They had like 5 WR over there and 1 guy who they just feed the ball to no matter how hurt he is. But what do I know.
Yes, that's the same question I have. What do you know?

I especially liked the "team is healthy" part. Of course they're healthy... its April. Everybody is healthy in April. OTA's won't be happening, and training camp is on the wrong side of questionable at this point. How could they NOT be healthy? What team isn't healthy? Unless you played in the SB, you've had like 3 months to recover. The Steelers have had more than that.

I think asking "what do you know" is a very fair question.

That’s a great point. I could see them settling for less than a 1st because teams would have to pony up a contract extension unless they don’t mind a one-year rental. If that were the case and they’d take a 2nd and a mid round, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Plus it helps that EDC is close to the Jags’s GM. They have no leverage with Yannick. I wouldn’t doubt it for one second if he sits out next season if he has to stay in Jax.
If they're taking a 2nd, its gotta be a high 2nd. They're not trading him for like the 60th pick in the draft.

So if you watch this video, the Narrator seemed to think that Miles would be even more successful as a pro than in college because he was open a whole lot, but because of the QB play wasn't always thrown the ball. Even in obvious situations.

I believe @Edgar made a video as well demonstrating that there were a lot of times where yet again Miles was open, but Lamar didn't throw it to him. I understand that the QB doesn't make the right read 100% of the time, but like what's going on here. How was Boykin getting open at ND, but not getting the rock like he should have been, then comes here and apparently lights up practice in a way we haven't seen from a draft pick receiver in awhile and then same thing doesn't really get the opportunity he may have deserved.

I remember the talk of maybe he didn't quite have the playbook down, but I'm going to be honest with you that I don't really buy that as an excuse at all. Especially not as a blanket excuse Thst could be used over the whole season. I'm just really hoping that this was actually more on Lamar and less on Miles and that maybe as they both improve, we get a huge boost in Miles' production. We lost Robert's and Moore is not going to get snaps. He's going to have to compete with Willie and a draft pick. I wonder if we'll see more of Hollywood and Boykin on the outside with Willie in the slot. Hoping we can turn a corner here!

Lamar is not a finished product and his reads will only get better. Boykin has been getting open a lot by what I've heard and I see him making a big jump next year doubling his totals from last year. Even if one of the big 5 at receiver is available in draft I would lean more bigger on the trenches and passrush and worry bout receiver more in the mid part of the draft mainly cuz of Boykins.

i think partly the lack of production came from miles being far down the reads - he was often designed as the clear-out to make space for routes coming underneath or he was later in the progression which naturally means he'll get the ball less

what we need is for the filmstudy of last year to start the ravens thinking about how to get miles involved more by including more plays that have miles earlier in the progressions by design or something like that

or its about better understanding how miles can help us beyond creating space and as a blocker in the run game

I think he will have a bigger jump next season than doubling his numbers.

If he tripled his numbers that would be very similar to Hollywoods rookie year while not playing the whole season. Like I just really hope he can at least make that jump. 600 yards, around 6 touchdowns. If we can get that much out of him and Hollywood goes beast mode, we'll be in good shape

agree. We also have to take into account the loss of Hayden Hurst and a new WR in the offense as well as the natural evolution of Roman's scheme.

I still hold firm that when I went to the open practice at the stadium, Boykin was without question the most dominant player on the field.

I think boykins lack of targets falls squarely on the coaches, he was almost never a true read it seemed. In edgars break down he certainly screwed up against Houston when he was an early read, but in general it did seem like he’s just running fades and posts all day while Lamar’s first 3 reads are some combo of andrews, Hollywood, and Boyle.

with Hayden hurst being gone I’d really like to see Boyle become much less pass oriented and have Boykin absorb like 90% of Boyle and hursts target share. This is where I become tentative with Greg Roman, because if we can’t expand the roles of the WRs it’s gonna hamstring Lamar’s growth terribly and leave him leaning on TEs and RBs for the rest of his career because he’s been conditioned. I’m not sure if Roman CAN incorporate the WRs more
