I think there’s no way they come out at some point like: “well we wanted to keep the trade but he was gonna miss the first 4 games” it had to be something that’s either immediately drastic or potentially really bad if he bends the wrong wayJaire had a PCL and a litany of many other nicks and dings. It’s not a comparable situation.
I will say there must be more than anyone’s saying because it just being a meniscus is seriously doubtful we would decline for that. I also agree it’s not like we’re not impacted here. I truly believe EDC would rather have an elite player than the two picks

I don’t disagree. I can’t imagine we would say we don’t want to risk him not being ready until Week 5, for example. I think we would take that.I think there’s no way they come out at some point like: “well we wanted to keep the trade but he was gonna miss the first 4 games” it had to be something that’s either immediately drastic or potentially really bad if he bends the wrong way
We’ll probably never know because the Ravens are never going to make a health (or really any) comment about another teams player. Shit, they don’t comment on our own players’ health situations.I think there’s no way they come out at some point like: “well we wanted to keep the trade but he was gonna miss the first 4 games” it had to be something that’s either immediately drastic or potentially really bad if he bends the wrong way
I don’t doubt that there’s something serious here but everyone knows they fucked Grant over to get Crabtree lolFormer NFL OL Will Compton is trying to compare this to the Ryan Grant situation in 2018 and how we failed him to chase Crabtree. Tried saying how he signed with the Colts and played in 14 games and started day one lol. Grant literally lasted one more season before retiring..... clearly our medical team saw something that foreshadowed him not playing much longer in the NFL, let alone just one final season.
Oh if that’s all that comes out we fire EDC before he leaves the media roomIf missing the first four games was the reason they scuttled this trade, we storm The Castle.
To be fair, that is true but Grant did only play 1 more year in the NFL so he was never going to last all 4 years of the contract we were set to give him. So that failed physical ended up being justified that he only played one more season. The only thing that can save us now is that Crosby gets traded elsewhere, a team finds what our medical team found but still takes the risk anyway. Only for Crosby to miss the first half of the season or something, in order to validate why we failed him in the first place.I don’t doubt that there’s something serious here but everyone knows they fucked Grant over to get Crabtree lol
Crosby has had some nagging knee issues for the past two years. It's possible what has been shown throughout the ravens physical is a concern about his longevity of playing football which probably doesn't make trading two 1st rounds picks for him and having to deal with a big cap hit as well worth it at this momentYeah so here’s the thing
1. Yes we did back out of this trade
2. Yes it sounds like we backed out due to a failed physical on a knee everyone knew had surgery
3. Yes we likely did back out because we traded 2x 1st round picks and didn’t like the risk we saw I assume
Those can all be true. We have historically been a good team and we don’t have a long history of this stuff but we have failed people before. I’m kinda 50/50 here because I think Crosby is still worth it and it’s a meniscus not a freaking Achilles or ACL or anything…right? Right?
Dawg, this one is making it to the overreaction threadDon’t give a fuck about it anymore they should just trade him and I’ll follow him to a new team
And I get that. But they obviously knew the consequences of pulling out and the fact that this was the plan. That means the pain of backing out is Crosby PLUS being behind the 8 ball. And with all that pain they still decided to do it.Because the entire offseason hinged on this move and now they’re back to square one with one still good but definitely not Maxx pivot option and not much else.
They didn’t want this to happen but felt it was a choice they had to make. And for that, they hate that they lost the player.
Yeah, EDC doesn't strike me as a full blown moron to try to pull something like that. And I get that. But they obviously knew the consequences of pulling out and the fact that this was the plan. That makes it very clear to me there are only 2 options. That medical was GNARLY. Or Decosta thought he made a big mistake and used the medical to pull out.
I'd tend to agree with my base suspicions. Because it's just such a huge blunder. But for some reason the fact that I'm reading a lot of other GMs are calling bs is influencing me.Yeah, EDC doesn't strike me as a full blown moron to try to pull something like that.
