Signings, Cuts, Trades

Part of that is that we’re a small market team and don’t typically leak stuff to insiders

2 most likely parties briefing to the media right now are the raiders and Crosby’s agent who both have a real stakehold in making this seem like the ravens are the villains of the piece
I wouldn't discount Jerry Jones either

Interesting that some actual journalists aren’t convinced by the insiders - in this case, gregg rosenthaal who is literally a colleague of pelissero

Another reason why it seems like this spin is coming from the raiders alone

“Backed out” is unprofessional language, trades are always subject to passing a physical and releasing a statement with that sort of language definitely makes it seem like they’re trying to make the story about the ravens and not about maxx Crosby’s medical…

I think its silly to suggest anything untoward has happened, this situation helps nobody so what do we gain.

Doesn't make it any less frustrating mind.

Has someone seen where this info about the Dallas dr being involved in this physical comes from? I’d like to see the original source…

Logging in to say that the Raiders absolutely knew that they were screwing us over. This is why Brady wouldn't deal Crosby to the Patriots, because he didn't want to screw his old team. I believe nothing that comes out of that man, and I believe nothing that comes out of that cesspool of a team.

Crosby has had some nagging knee issues for the past two years. It's possible what has been shown throughout the ravens physical is a concern about his longevity of playing football which probably doesn't make trading two 1st rounds picks for him and having to deal with a big cap hit as well worth it at this moment
You’re not wrong. It was a big price to pay both in cap and draft capital. If Crosby is good then it’s worth the price. If he isn’t then it’s a problem and we would be hating on EDC for the move. There’s no salvaging this for our team in public opinion. It doesn’t help we didn’t put out a statement so the narrative is being controlled atm.

I’m sure Crosby is good for a short term but is a year of him worth two first round picks? If we win a Super Bowl? Possibly, yes.

I also genuinely think we’re pissed too about this. I’m certain the Ravens are mad because I genuinely believe we wanted to get this guy, picks be damned.

Yeah it seems weird for many reasons

1. We are losing out on an elite level player
2. We’re now having to redo our offseason plan
3. I think it would make us look worse if we steal FA from other teams even if it’s happened before in the league
4. It’s not like the knee injury was unknown
5. What was most likely unknown was the extent
6. I firmly believe if the price wasn’t two first round picks then we stick with the deal

So it is about the picks and yes maybe buyer’s remorse but only because of the extent of whatever we discovered upon further review. I don’t fault the Ravens for canceling the deal. It is two picks and salary, which isn’t insignificant if he’s also got long term and short term issues as you may not realize your ROI.

I wish we could redo the trade and negotiate. I know that’s unlikely now. Honestly, it feels like the Raiders are reflecting the personality of their owner. I feel like everything going on here is driven by their owner

The dichotomy of teams saying it’s bullshit what the ravens did

But then the idea that teams will be hesitant to take on the risk of Crosby given the medical

Make those two concepts line up - can’t be both the ravens being shady and also legit medical issues that scare off other teams

Especially given the cowboys are not interested anymore after seeing the MRI…

The spin on this story is so wild

Why would other teams be pissed at us besides the Raiders?

It's not meniscus, that's for sure. I reckon we pull out of the trade, regardless of the price.

I read somewhere it might be pre-arthritis setting in. Todd Gurley's career was shortened considerably with that. Anyone else confirming that?
