Yea but he didnt create any vs titans and was getting routed up in cvg
so was peters who has maybe the best “ball skills” of any corner in the league...
both of them had a bad game

Peters always get routed up. He isnt a great cover corner like hump is suppose to be. Im just trying to get it at the point that we hump lacks the ball skills that all great cbs have. He plays good defense alot but it stills annoys me everytime ball in air and he isnt looking back so gets a pi called or the ball caught on himso was peters who has maybe the best “ball skills” of any corner in the league...

Peters is a great cover corner he just plays risky. Look at his game vs Hopkins where something made him play deep all game and not sit or try to come downhill, he strapped tf down the best wr in the league because he didn’t feel much need to jump his routes.Peters always get routed up. it’s about film, Peters plays what he sees on film, and if teams switch it up it bites him in the ass sometimes
Oh yea i 100% agree with you with this but he still gets beat on doubles moves consistently.. this has been going on since Kc days but at same time, I understand thats whatPeters is a great cover corner he just plays risky. Tbh, he has always been getting beat on double moves.. i guess this year more teams have noticed or either put the correct route concepts out there to bait him..other DBs called him the most intelligent guy in the room last year - you can see he's got incredible tape study to be as good as he is but he also takes risks and when they dont pay off they look silly
i think the problem this year has been that he's looking to make that pick every single and teams know that so they show him something and actually give him something completely different
he's also getting more aggressive on plays where it's not necessarily applicable - some of his best INTs the last 2 years have been in situations where he's taking calculated risks based on the coverage around him where if he gets it wrong it's not going to be a big play - 2 or 3 of his best plays have been when he comes off the lower receiver and drops deeper but the risk there is so much less because the guy he's leaving open is much closer to the LoS
this year he seems to be getting beaten on double moves a lot where he's biting on the shallower stuff which is opening him up to the deeper stuff
I’ll agree Sherman is the highest iq corner I’ve ever watched, he’s also less of a ball hawk but that could just be a result of being untested. It’s cat and mouse with peters, he will adjust I believe, he’s kinda done it a lot his career, he’s in the debate for best corner in the league one year, he gives up a lot of big plays the next, he adjusts and goes back and forth.Oh yea i 100% agree with you with this but he still gets beat on doubles moves consistently.. this has been going on since Kc days but at same time, I understand thats what
Comes with his style of
Play .. i put him up there with sherman, who i feel is in a lane of his own when it comes down to iq at the cb position
Yeah some of his stuff looks bad because he’s just standing and looking at the qb while he gets blown by, people are like wtf are you doing? But it’s easy to see that and impossible to see what peters is seeing, because in his mind he’s seen this on film and he knows there might be a play there. It’s part of the risk with peters and he’s had an excellent season overall aside from 3 particularly bad weeks, he’s saved us some games with big plays as well and has improved dramatically as a tackler and has done an excellent job forcing fumbles. So make no mistakes, peters is having a rough patch, it happens, but he has not come close to making the trade and extension look bad, just a month ago they were the best tandem in football and a few rough weeks with our top 2 DL out of the game doesn’t change that, the rams tandem has emerged so they’re the flavor of the month right now, and maybe they are the best tandem in the league, but the ravens still have a top 3 tandem even in a slump.other DBs called him the most intelligent guy in the room last year - you can see he's got incredible tape study to be as good as he is but he also takes risks and when they dont pay off they look silly

Yeah he’s not picking his moments well at all, and that can be a result of offenses adjusting, and like I said earlier I expect him to make adjustments too, he’s a natural corner, it’ll come with time and self scouting.oh absolutely he's still a good corner it's just he has a tendency that teams can exploit
it really is bad though when he gets beat watching the QB - that's a cardinal sin for a corner to be caught watching the QB - if you spend your time watching the QB you'll watch him complete passes on you - i think peters is not picking the plays and concepts well at the moment that he can attack and is biting on a lot
Crazy that you say because my boy whose a pats fans told me the same thing on how our cbs are often on an real island with no help.that's what i think it is - he's become almost too predictable i think in that teams know he's studied them and know what kinds of things he'll attack and they can create plays that will isolate and take advantage of him
i think the other thing is that we leave our corners on islands a ton which means that there's less of a safety net

It’s Official!
Dez Bryant finally has been signed to the 53 man roster
Haven't seen the full list posted yet. Averett's back!
I really hope for the teams sake he regains his early season form, I was already starting to think of him as a key defender long term, this team really relies on corner depth and he was looking like our future cb3good timing with Jimmy's injury issues - would be big if he's able to get going before Tuesday - might be a stretch though given he's not played for like 5 weeks and will have had only a week of practice
