Signings, Cuts, Trades

I'm glad we weren't in on Gilmore for that much money. If we signed him I doubt we would have tried to draft a CB in round one, unless Sauce or Stingley fell to us.

Jeremy Fowler reporting Carolina is very interested in Baker.

Don't like it. We need as many QB's in the draft to be taken before 14.

who'd have thought in may 2018 that we might have a camp battle in carolina in 2022 for the starting QB between Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold

lolololol

The 1st and 3rd picks just wow.

Sometimes I feel bad for QBs drafted into shitty situations

The biggest downside for Carolina is that they're in a shitty spot in the draft. Not only are they not picking high, but they also don't have a day 2 pick at all at this point. So they're picking middle first and then late fourth.

So if they take a QB in the first, which I honestly don't think snagging Baker stops them from doing, they'll probably take a player who won't play at all this year, meaning they won't basically be able to upgrade their roster via the draft for 2022 until the fourth round.
With a potential lame duck coach out there, this isn't ideal.

I think that's what they're realizing. They sort of have to either get Baker or roll with Darnold, because they don't have the draft capital to move up and down the board to improve the roster.
