Signings, Cuts, Trades

Fuller hasn't been good in a few years, but is still young, a vet, and when he was playing well was quite good. Maybe he can get back to form as CB3/CB4 in our defense.

I'm interested to see what his contract is. Doesn't seem worth it to me if he's making more than they saved by releasing Young (let alone the 1.3mil Young is making this year with Chicago).

He played over 40% in the slot last season and he's normally has over 90% of his snaps on the left side. I believe this attributed to his drop off. He allowed an 87 passer rating in 2020 and 512 yards. On the left side that's not bad at all, where you are basically covering number 1 WRs.

He gave up 3 TDs in the slot this year, so I don't see him playing too much in the slot for the Ravens. Should be interesting considering his career he is primarily a left corner. Fantastic depth signing.

The last time I see him playing a significant amount of snaps on the right side was back in 2019 with the Rams.

Agreed. We have more than enough guys to play the slot. Hell come right in an realistically be CB3/4 and hell likely be great in that role

Well I think day 3 pick was always the most likely. And probably not a high one.
I guess there is "value" in creating the perception that you won't hold players hostage who don't want to be here. But I agree... our team is better with him on it, and I'm not getting rid of him for that price.
If he's pissed, he can be pissed.
Pissed off players creating a toxic locker room has brought down enough teams that I am not sure why you would wish it on the Ravens.

It isn’t worth the headache of having a disgruntled player when they are an average starter. If they were all pro, sure, you risk it but an average starter isn’t worth blowing up the locker room.

1. I seriously doubt Clark, even as a locker room leader, has anywhere near enough clout to blow up a locker room. Everybody and their mother knows this would be his last year here anyway, so if he wanted to make a stink about it, players would just ignore him.
2. How does doing that help Clark? You think NFL teams are clamoring to give a raise to an average starter who gets the reputation as a locker room cancer when he doesn't get his way?
There's a reason why the guys that do this are also like high-end talented players or QBs. Odell Beckham is talented enough to create a locker room issue. Sammy Watkins isn't.

They are not paying Marlon that money to play slot and Peters is purely an outside guy which pretty much makes it Fuller by default.

Marlon is going to be playing a lot of slot and did so in 2020 already. He was going to be the primary guy there last year before Peters got hurt and it pushed him back outside. They want Marlon closer to the LOS and making plays on the ball.

it's all about getting your best players on the field

Your best combination is Humphrey and Peters outside. Both are, or were when they last played, too 10 corners (Marlon being top 5). Humphrey isn’t bad in the slot and better than Fuller but the drop off on the outside is not worth it.

Chopping away at the needs though and I think you're down to 2 or 3 "Daryl Smiths" left. WR is the obvious one and they seem to be slow playing that one and for good reason. Edge is the next one and that one is likely to be Houston closer to TC if I had to guess. The last is ILB and they kinda hit that already in Biegel, but if you count him as an OLB, this is one where I think they're going to let the young guys fight and make a move only if none of them capitalize.

Totally. WR has to be the next move. Unless they wait till TC for that too. I can't see them adding anyone else other than a WR and Houston.
