This is the time to let the team get healthy while farming the week competition. Even after the next 4 you face the tanking dregs of the division for 4 more games before the only real competition in the finale. As long as the Ravens are healthy by January, they will easily win the division and be contending for that bye week.

I'm taking the pessimistic stance of 5-6 weeks with him. Everything you said about our opponents is true.

I am not defending his drops. I'm just saying he isn't dropping many passes and considering shit QBs he played with, it's all good.

He actually has better stats than Sutton.
 
On vacation so a little late, but love the Roquan pickup. ILB might not seem to be a premium position but it’s been a big issue this year even with Queen stepping up more as of late. A guy that’s always around the ball and an impact player. I’ll always support sending picks away to get already good players.
 
I see fans bitching that we didn’t get a receiver on Facebook. We are putting up points on offense, the trouble has been that the defense can’t hold leads. Smith will be a key piece in helping our defense, which has been improving, hold these leads - plus Bowser is almost ready. Ojabo and Marcus Williams may also be back soon. Hopefully now that Hamilton has half a season under his belt, the game is starting to slow down for him. I would love our defense to turn into a well oiled machine heading into the playoffs!
 
I'm a little surprised that everyone seem to like this move.

On the one hand, I'm sure he'll upgrade the position.
On the other it seems like an overpay for a 9 (regular season) game rental. That's more than Philadelphia gave the Bears for Robert Quinn, who got 18.5 sacks last season. It looks like DeCosta is overcompensating for his failure to adequately address the ILB position for years on end.

I also don't like the long term ramifications of the deal. If he stays, we're either paying a lot (too much) at ILB or franchising him, which is worrying for Lamar's future.

I'd rather have the picks.

So here's the thing. Our running game has to continue to be on point. You trust this running game without Gus or Dobbins? I don't. Likely and Duvernay are gonna have to step up and quick. Problem is that Lattimore is gonna erase one of our receivers. Basically, a combination of Likely, Robinson, and D-Jax are gonna have to help Lamar out.

In conclusion, I understand the bitching even though I didn't bitch but do we need to trade for one if possible.
 
I feel if we hadn't had so many late collapses this year, our big move would have been for offensive help. But with things having unfolded the way they have, help in the middle was viewed as the priority. A WR woulda been great, especially with Bateman being out, but the offense is 11th overall (bottom 7 passing, top 2 rushing). Maybe they figure there's just enough offense. Hopefully, they still make a move for a WR.

I’m telling you man I thought from jump this defense could be special, they just gotta get goddamn healthy and Marcus williams is a huge loss for now, but man when they’re ALL on the field they can be a special unit, like a super bowl, carry a run first mediocre offense kinda unit.

We have needed an ILB since Moseley went to the Jets. That being said he plays all over the field and hoping Macdonald finds a way to use both Roquan and Patrick Queen to our advantage.
 
Here is some info on the Roquan Smith signing. Outside of him being a two time All Pro, this season going into Week 9, he’s recorded a league-high tackles (83) along with 2.5 sacks, five pressures, three pass breakups and two interceptions while allowing a 55.3 percent completion rate in coverage. These PFF grades don't always provide the context behind the low grades, but he's a very good off ball linebacker that is a 3 down backer and can play side line to sideline. Worst thing about this trade is we have to pay him and he's probably requesting about 17m.
