Signings, Cuts, Trades

That’s a shame - especially with Calais Campbell’s injury and also with next year in mind
Only way to have protected him was add him to the 53 right?

Is Kamar Aiken available?

per PFF, Moses has been the best RT in the league since week 7. It took some time to get acclimated to our offense, but he's been a very good free agent signing. It will be interesting what happens in the offseason between, Powers, Zeitler and Moses.

Moses has allowed only 4 pressures (2nd fewest) and no quarterback hits during that span of time. He's also graded out as the 2nd best run defender.

He's really come on strong lately. Not many guys that can move the way he can at his size.

i think moses is probably safe
only 2.5m saving to create a hole at RT - obviously we've got Mekari and Faalele but right now I'm pretty happy with the 4 OTs we've got and they're all under contract next year at a pretty reasonable rate

Thought Faalele played well but still plenty of room for development, so no problems having him as depth for another year.

The cap casualty conversation made me look at the 2023 cap, and I feel like these are the most likely guys to either go or get a contract reworked...

Kevin Zeitler - $6.5M
Gus Edwards - $4.4M
Nick Boyle - $6M
Chuck Clark - $3.5M
Calais Campbell - $6.5M (likely retiring but think we'd keep otherwise)

A bunch of other guys like Moses, Bowser that are like $2.5M or less that don't really make sense unless things get drastic. Zeitler is the only real tough decision here, but I think there's something that can be worked out there if we want to keep him. Edwards is another guy that I'd anticipate they'd like to keep, but would obviously require an extension of some sort.

i think they'd have to be really confident that he's ready to move on from Moses
im really confident that at some point he will be ready, im just not confident yet that it'll be in time for the beginning of the 2023 season... and for 2.5m i dont think we need to take that risk (while then also needing to acquire more tackle depth)

I think the FO keeps this OL mostly together. At most I see a 1 player change.

Stanley stays
I think Powers signs elsewhere
Linderbaum stays
I think Zeitler gets restructured
I think Moses stays

Question is, do they think Mekari, Colon, or Cleveland can be a starting LG? Can they find a guy in FA or the draft to play at Powers level?

Maybe they even keep Powers as well.

100% on all of these
if we could somehow find a way to get a pick back for chuck that would be great but i dont think pre-free agency that's likely

we do get thin on safety depth if we move on chuck because geno's out of contract (albeit wouldnt be cheap to retain i dont think and with chuck gone would figure to get more dime/nickel snaps in 2023 in this scenario) - but ultimately i dont see how chuck stays - we would also have stephens (although right now we need him at outside corner), washington and pepe who are both nickels who can play safety roles in various coverages and formations (and they clearly liked washington in some of those dime looks before he ran out of elevations) - we would have to retain washington in this scenario

edwards either being cut or redone, boyle being cut or retiring, clark being cut or traded, campbell retiring all seem highly likely and inevitable

as you say zeitler's the biggest question on that list - but we're already looking at around 20m in savings just from that bunch

Yeah I don't think there's too much trade value in Chuck, but if a team wants a veteran leader, maybe they'd swing a conditional pick over or something. Regardless, I'd think it's time to lean on Hamilton and probably Stone on a tender, as you alluded to. S is a position where I feel like we can always trust the FO to find a rotational/ST option at the mid-back end of the draft, so not overly worried there.

100% - another late rounder to add for depth and special teams and continue that carousel

Or they go hard on CBs and move Stephens back to nickel/dime snaps as a 3 position player on the backend

Yeah.. go after cbs cause I'm sick of seeing Stephens playing outside. Bless his heart but the FO needs to do whatever it can to keep anyone but him playing on the boundaries.

Oh yeah. Bring in TO

So Carr gets benched , Adam’s said he only went to Vegas to be with Carr… sounds like some interesting trade scenarios could occur next season. Adam’s to Baltimore let’s go!!
