per Zrebiec we didn't complete the trade for Chase Young due to medical concerns for his long term durability due to his torn acl and patella tendon

That being said even if Young became a short term rental, he most likely brings us a 3rd round comp in 2025

I’m probably in the minority but I’m perfectly fine with our current front 7. I’ve never really been a Chase fan either

A late 3rd for Young would have been worth it, but I'm not sure he brings a 3rd comp pick.

We saw with this trade that he was viewed as less valuable than Sweat and Leonard Williams on the D Line because of his injuries. Even the 49ers seem to be viewing him as a short term rental because they probably won't be able to re-sign him.

They also signed Tremaine Edmunds the same offseason for $18mil/year. Roquan is 10x the player for 2 mil more. They really have no idea what they are doing
I think they're trying to build for Eberflus's specific defensive system, which is stupid because he doesn't seem like a good Head Coach or even DC.

I mean, what DC worth anything wouldn't find a way to accomodate Roquan in his 'system'.

And he's never even tried putting Fields into any kind of offense that might suit him. (Not saying Fields is a star, but are they really going to move on and use another top pick at QB without ever really trying to make Fields work? I bet Roman could get a top 10 offense out of him within about 2 weeks and I'm not a GRo fan.)

Good ol Solomon Wilcots on Sirius radio sitting there saying Logan Wilson and Jermane Pratt were the best ILB corps in the AFC about made me wreck the truck. What a fuckin homer.

Leonard Williams? I think you're talking about Johnathan Allen or Daron Payne. The Alabama Jammas.

Yeah I'd move on from fields with Caleb Williams.

If he is that cheap, than you would extend him. I believe 16 to 17m would bring a 3rd round comp and I don't believe anyone is signing him for that cheap. He's one of the best at creating pressures this season. I'd love to have him on the team, but I also would like to extend some of our own.

He's also played on a stacked DL his entire career. Heard he's gone rogue on rushes to help his stats. I wouldn't have opposed him on the team but he wasn't at the top of my list.
that's not fair. So has Nick Bosa and you don't say that about him. Now I wouldn't be surprised if that's true that he has gone rogue to pad stats. It will be interesting to see how he plays with the Niners, but I'd bet he does get a pretty large contract, by avg annual (not guarantees). Will be interesting to see where he lands.

Makes you feel better Ive said the same about TJ. And I'm not trying to necessarily take away credit but that makes his life easier.

And I fully expect us to bully the fins.

You didn’t ask me but ima respond anyway…

Classic underachiever, plus a long injury history in a very short career.
I'm not sure I'd call him an underachiever. He did well in his rookie year and was injured in year 2 which carried over to year 3. He's been a top Edge this year. If it's injury history, sure, but he doesn't seem like an underachiever. Maybe he's not a team player and if that's the case than I'd rather not have him.

Idk man with his draft pedigree and reputation he should have shown much more by now, he’s never come anywhere close to what we expected to see

I think a lot of that has to do with the injury over the last couple years and Jack Del Rio shouldn't be coaching anymore. We shall see what happens in San Fran or wherever he ends up
