Signings, Cuts, Trades

The more I look at the draft, the less I worry about the position. I think there's enough depth to find good players in the late rounds, especially guards. I don't see the need to spend a 14-point pick on Ol; I'd definitely go for BPA, but it could be at another position
Maybe it’s because I don’t really like any of the players I’m expecting to be available at 14, and the only one I do like, I’m supposed to say no to because of positional value.
All the salt in this post just made my blood pressure go up lol
Lmao you right

Also heard they entered the offseason with the idea that they'd move on from Justice Hill, but the Doyle got hired and asked for him to stay. Loves his skillset fit for his offense.
I loved his skillset for monkens offense and then he had one good season out of 3

Really warming up to a Jennings signing

I'd say 2. Nothing earth shattering of course but always productive in the snaps he got. And then last year, the whole offense just felt like a disaster. Seems they're scrubbing performance of almost everyone from last year and hoping to get back to 2024.

I would put a bunch of other guys listed over Zay. Garrett Wilson I would drop below though. All the other guys listed I think are better by a mile and would trade for in a heartbeat, with the exception of Pickens because of his personality.

Agree to disagree, I believe AJ Brown is still one of the best X receivers and wins consistently downfield. He’s been limited with the Eagles offense having many weapons and a Mickey Mouse offense that averages barely 3K passing yards a year.

He would help this offense tremendously especially in the red zone. Andrews is the only real threat in the redzone at this time.

ok so you're saying you'd take Zay over pickens and wilson
but you'd put AJ Brown behind him

that would still make Zay 11th and at that point we're just quibbling over 1 or 2 spots - he would clearly be part of the tier of guys that's worthy of being paid

Lew may be good but I want nothing to do with guys coming off injured anymore. We need someone who can actually compete and not maybe compete at C. Another position, sure, maybe—but not OL.

if you're going to take players off your board with various concerns, this is going to be a very small draft class lol
there's a good amount of talent in this class, but a whole lot of it comes with questions, especially at the top - lots of guys with non-ideal medical histories, measurements or testing

got a bad rap just because the fanbase was in love with keaton mitchell
but i really like justice - so undervalued by fans but his 3rd down skillset is high value

And that's precisely why Keaton could never get on the field consistently - couldn't pass protect and never developed in the receiving game

Great read. I had no idea about the banks injury either. That was a short lived love affair for me lol. I don't nearly watch enough tape or anything to contradict you, but I will say I HATE usc kids and players growing up around it and with two USC roommates and lemon can ball. To me he's a rare case of just a football player, not a measurement guy or insane athlete but just someone I trust to make tough catch in any big moment, that's the only reason I like him. All said, I can 100% see the rams taking him so might not be a worry.

I agree Tyson has a much higher ceiling but only scared of him due to injuries - if he goes to the chiefs he will be a Hof And if he drops to us he will spend life on IR cuz that's how she goes.

Is Bain really that guy? If so, worth trading up for?

Zay had 1200 yards last year and we are still a run first offense. He had 112 targets. Yes, I'd take Zay Flowers over A.J. Brown today. Not during his prime though.

I’d love to build a fortress via the draft but what good is it if we let them walk after every 4 years because they were first round picks? And I like Vega
A Guard wouldn't be nearly as hard to pick up the 5th year option or use the tag on as a Center because they get paid a lot more. That Linderbaum contract looks insanely expensive because they're paying him like a top Guard.

I mean the 5th year option is fairly closely aligned with the franchise tag value. The 2026 franchise tag value for Olineman is $25.8M. That's almost $2M above the high end of the Guard market currently.
Guards are making more than Cs, but your high-end Guards are pretty much making $20M/yr, and the franchise tag value is considerably more than that.

So I think the only way you'll get "value" from a 5th year option on a Guard is if they're effectively like a top 3-5 Guard in football.

I think Keaton had really special speed, but he just lacked so much across his entire game.

It's funny how certain players become fan favorites. I guess in the case of Keaton, underdog story and then broke some good runs, so fans just ate it up.

My only question now is who’s gonna be the home run hitter outside of Lamar?

wouldn't be impossible
but would still be tricky and non-ideal

and especially as guards are a lot easier to find
