Please no Sadiq at 14. I don’t see him living up to that hype, I just don’t see it on his film. He might make a decent big slot IF he has some serious development in his route tree, but he’s not a 14th overall talent.

If Vega or Fano are there and we go Sadiq Ozzie needs to slap the shit out edc

This team put themselves in a position to have to draft a trench player after how both sides performed last year, having questions about Madibuike, and losing Linderbaum in FA.

That Starks pick did not move the needle last year. Hoping the kid can still become something, but it does feel like this team is still 2-3 moves behind before making serious contention.

It would be malpractice to not get an o-linemen, d-linemen, or WR. And WR is only if you don’t think you would be able to retain Flowers moving forward for a reasonable contract.

I agree, even though Sadiq is a weapon, there are too many holes to make a luxury high pick at a TE if you want to maximize Lamar’s window.

Think Starks impact had more to do with Orr than Starks. I expect him to have a much larger impact going forward.

He's also what I assume ridiculously cheap depth. Most teams in this league don't have better reserve Guards than Faalele on their roster. Including, arguably, the Ravens.
You ain't wrong but people don't wanna hear this one. I am very far from a PFF guy but he was middle of the pack most of the year and then dropped on the wrong side of that late and ended 55/81. That means there were still 26 guys ranked lower than him. And watching the rest of the league... yes, the state of OL play is indeed that bad.

He needs to learn how to wrap up, tackle. That and he’ll probably fill out some, still pretty young.
Once he settled in, Starks tackling was far from an issue. It was one of the comforting things as we got down the stretch - he was going to get the guy down vs. Gilman and his half assed attempts.

Are they actually reserves though?

If the reports are true about how teammates felt about him, best to move on. Most likely not a scheme fit anyway.

Anyone can say anything on twitter and that doesnt make it true. But the players hating Faalele is the easiest rumor of all time to believe. He was one of the worst OL I've ever seen get that many starts.

Funny enough his partner Vorhees was also one of the worst I've ever seen. But like for real those 2 and Gino Gradkowski have gotta be in the top 5 worst in recent history.

may i raise you an alejandro villanueva?

Probably a better fit for the draft section, but fuck it - they would also greatly prefer to go offense at 14. They aren't dead set if something better presents itself, but they either want some protection or a weapon.

if i were to stylistically match the type of receiver i think they'd be interested in...

i'm going with Tyson or Concepcion - those guys quintessentially fit what the ravens like in receivers
omar cooper too although maybe not at 14
Tate will be gone, and Lemon doesn't strike me as their type in the same way (and also might be gone already)

i like a lot of the TEs late day 2 and throughout day 3 - i really cant foresee them investing a top 14 pick on a backup TE who might never be a true in-line guy (also typically the ravens like TEs with more production than sadiq)

OL definitely an option too - i'm not the biggest fan of Ioane but he's been clearly linked with us at 14 a lot, I like Fano but i'm assuming he and Mauigoa will be gone at 14

you know teams need more than just 1 or even 2 WRs right?
Ravens currently have Zay and Bate and no one else...

DL obviously revolves around madubuike, but even if he's definitely gone for good, we're not drafting one at 14 because there isn't one to take - i do think it's been somewhat positive that all the additions and focus has been on NT types in free agency rather than 3 techs

OL is fine - obviously not ideal having to replace 3 IOL starters, but the IOL wasn't good last year - in the case of guard, it may well be addition by subtraction and we've definitely upgraded at LG - this is a decent class at C towards the end of day 2 and there's a fair amount of IOL talent (to go along with Emery Jones who we drafted last year who should be the leader in the clubhouse to start at guard unless we draft a guard in the first 2 rounds this year)

i'm not that worried about the OL tbh - i'm assuming we'll come out of the first 3 days with someone who can compete for one of the 2 remaining starter jobs - but i'm certainly ok with bullock and jones as the current stand-ins at C and RG

Im not putting any stock in it. Just wouldn't have made sense to bring him back to me. Bad for optics, fans, scheme, and Faalele. Let him get a new start.
Oh yeah he was never coming back. They were hoping for a step he didn't take, but the bigger issue was not even attempting to get better there. They think they already have (or will) with Emery Jones getting an actual offseason there and they aren't done adding either.

It was time, but Faalele alone did not tank our season, nor was he the worst OL in the league. He was part of the problem for sure, but there were much deeper issues than him.
