Just according to Harbs it was not serious.
With all the injuries, retirements and speculation around this team, Jeff Zrebiec is maybe the most underpaid beat writer in the NFL

There's one team who truly rivals us when it comes to injuries: the Chargers. I mean that team finds ways to lose almost every week. I'd feel more sympathy for them if they weren't in the AFC.With all the injuries, retirements and speculation around this team, Jeff Zrebiec is maybe the most underpaid beat writer in the NFL

So he is on life support?Just according to Harbs it was not serious.
Nah. He's already dead. Harbaugh ate his organs to preserve his own youth. Go figure. It's not like the dude ages anyway. He's having his robotics expert(Cam Cameron) create a lifelike replica of Williams. But the only things it knows how to do is run run pass punt.So he is on life support?

John Harbaugh on Tim Williams:
"I thought Tim played well. He had a quarterback hit there the last play of the game against Joe Thomas. That is pretty good. Other things he will look at, he will want to improve upon. But, he is a guy that we need to improve quickly and become real viable for us quickly. He has the talent, he has the 'want to,' and we just have to keep coaching him up, and he has to keep working at it to get up to speed where he can play more and more for us. I expect him to do that."
Sounds like we want him to be on that edge rushing the passer every chance we get. They see he can be special. We just need to get him feeling more comfortable
I haven't seen much pass rushing wise either. But he's been good on run defense from what I've seen. Give him time though. Suggs has seemed to turn the clock back somehow and offenses are going to have to devote more attention to him... And that's gonna be a mistake. We actually ahve pass rushers next year.Hows Judon been doing on PFF because I havent seen much from him these last two games.
The depth on the defense in general is fucking insane. We're down our second best corner and the secondary is still rock solid.
This defense when Williams, Bowser, Humphrey, Judon, Kaufausi, Henry, and etc all develop, and when Young comes back is going to be holy crap levels of scary. We're set for at least the next 3 years with the amount of talent there. My god if we can get an above average offensive line and another good WR.. Jesus I wouldn't want to play us. Please stay healthy Flacco so this can actually work.

Im guessing pittsburg will be the first time Pees opens up the playbook. He'll have to with all those weapons they have yet i still feel confident in our D. Pittsburg might come in a little cocky and well punch em in the moith and see how they respondFilmStudy pointed out to something that is extremely impressive about the defense: we mostly rushed only 4 and dropped 7 in coverage. So basically, if you are to read between the lines, this simply means we're still in preseason mode. There's barely any scheme, we've been just rotating some formations (nickel, dime, base) and let the players dominate the offenses they've faced. I can't really explain it any better, but seriously wtf, it's like our defense is barely at 70% and we're still dominating.
So, if like me you were still worried about the level of competition, well don't worry, Pees hasn't even started showing his cards. I'm anxious.
i think the big thing with our defense is the versatility across the board, weve played a pretty vanilla style overall, but we still cause a lot of pre snap confusion. i could be wrong, but i FEEL LIKE i see our db's showing blitz very often, and they actually do blitz a fair bit but mostly they just show blitz pre snap and then drop into coverage.FilmStudy pointed out to something that is extremely impressive about the defense: we mostly rushed only 4 and dropped 7 in coverage. Agreed on all accounts. Pitt is the first real test but from what they've shown so far they're underwhelming. Their offense has scored less points than ours I think...Im guessing pittsburg will be the first time Pees opens up the playbook. True, there has been some presnap motion and some DBs playing close to the line but it has been as much about disguising coverage as it has been about showing blitz. Jefferson and Webb usually cover slots and TE so they'll often play around the LOS but they have blitzed only a handful of time, and that's scary because they're both crazy good at it. It's also a shame that Mosley's sack was nullified because it was a thing of beauty and I hope to see some more in the future.i think the big thing with our defense is the versatility across the board, weve played a pretty vanilla style overall, but we still cause a lot of pre snap confusion. i could be wrong, but i FEEL LIKE i see our db's showing blitz very often, and they actually do blitz a fair bit but mostly they just show blitz pre snap and then drop into coverage.
with guys like webb, jefferson, and humphrey, that legitimately scares teams, thats 3 solid coverage db's who can blitz from multiple positions and can make a big difference in the backfield. im on the "humphrey for cb" train, but one thing he has going for him as a SS is that when he blitzes on the edge, he has legitimate disengaging skills, he has moments(though few and far between) on his college tape where he looks like a part time edge rusher, burst past the line, throw a punch followed by a spin or a swim and go nearly untouched. when he gets on the field more, with webb and jefferson, there will be a whole lot of fear of the blitz
I LOVE when we slide Mosley to the edge to rush. He looks so natural at it, he's got a natural bend that makes me believe that if he had practiced edge rushing from day one that he would've developed into a successful one. And his delayed blitzes are a thing of beautyAgreed on all accounts. Pitt is the first real test but from what they've shown so far they're underwhelming. He has to play, right? He's the Ravens'ambassador to the U.K.! lol.I really hope we have Brandon Williams for this game. Fournette is going to get the ball a lot and it would be a lot better with him there.
True, I don't trust our run defense as much if Brandon isn't there. And if we shut down Fournette we basically win the game.I really hope we have Brandon Williams for this game. Fournette is going to get the ball a lot and it would be a lot better with him there.
