Chuck Clark

Charm City

Pro Bowler
He should keep that green dot until he shows he can’t handle it
Getting that long term security and having the coaching staff believe in you will only keep motivating him. He doesn't seem like the kind of player to get caught up in his own hype

absolutely + he's 24 and is now scheduled to hit the market again when he's 28 - if he continues his current trajectory he'd still be in line for a pretty huge payday on the next go-round

yet again i cant help but feel like players like chuck clark are a testament to this team's commitment to special teams later in the draft and in udfa because the fundamentals aren't dissimilar to playing safety or linebacker - so by spending that capital you're bringing in players who benefit your special teams but also are learning the fundamentals of being a good defender in our scheme and it repeatedly pays dividends with those later round picks - rather than taking fliers on guys who are unlikely to amount to anything we look for contributors in ways that other teams seemingly still dont

i dont know if we organisationally value 7th round picks as more than priority free agents but we definitely like 6th round picks and other day 3 picks a lot
