Eagles Cut WR Green-Beckham

id say its worth a veteran minimum deal. philly has a very logjammed wr corps and it could be case of getting lost in the crowd. i just cant believe a guy who caught contested catches as well as he did in college just cant do it anymore. maybe hes just been a total failure and will never become a nfl wr. but i really liked him in college and he has a skillset we currently lack. could possibly be useful in spread sets to catch a tough bail-out kinda throw in some key moments. who knows. doubt we pursue him though, his DV case seemed to be a drunk girl drama that he got caught up in, but the fact that its anywhere on his record makes him pretty much ignored im guessing

Maybe if the Ravens don't like Moore as the 4th WR but I dont think its, worth spending any real money on someone who is at best WR4.

Wasn't he waived and remains under his rookie contract scale? If that's the case, the next team that claims him should get him for what is left on his rookie contract which would be $944 grand cap hit for 17' and 1.1m for 18'.

This is true only if he is claimed

I wouldn't mind bringing him into camp. So long as nobody claims him and he can be brought in for the minimum, he could be brought it as a no-risk move to see if he can survive the cuts. The new rule change finally allows teams to carry 90 players into final cuts, and he's arguably more talented than the 90th player vying for a roster spot. Will he make it? I see it as less likely than otherwise since he hasn't had his head on straight. It doesn't help that he's not an ST specialist. But as long as he isn't leaned on whatsoever and is treated as no more than a potential pleasant surprise, at worst, he could come in and push the 4th and 5th WRs to step it up somewhat.

Contrary to popular belief you CAN have too many tools in the tool box.

He's a drop machine who hasn't turned out the way anyone hoped when evaluating his potential in that draft class so I hope and expect us to pass on him - he'd come in and be a wr 4 for us anyway which would at best just shunt chris Moore to the 5th spot which doesn't really help us anyway

It WOULD diversify the skillset of drop-prone WR's we have on our roster which is always coveted.

I don't think he adds enough to justify using any of the minimal cap space we have.
He wouldn't count against the cap. We have 87 players under contract, and only the Top 51 are equated into the available space.

DGB is very bad, his cap wouldn't be burdensome, but the team could more efficiently achieve a similar result by spiking the ball directly onto the turf 4 times every game.
