Eagles Cut WR Green-Beckham

Boldnpurpblack

Practice Squad
Performed on the big stage lol yeah the one good game in his career made him just good enough to get released half way through the next year by Seattle
The rest of his career barely surpasses that one game, he couldn't get playing time with us at the end of 2015 when it was just Aiken playing.

You could have at least said Matthews is a better special teams player.

Oh the Titans and Eagles gave up on him, the Titans gave up on T.West too they called him out of shape, lazy, uncommitted, he's been hardworking and dedicated as a Raven right.
- the eagles seem to be ready to give up on all their young WRs including Matthews and Agholor every WR on the market the Eagles try to sign them.

DGB has played 2 years with two Rookie QBs, and has decent numbers for someone not starting with reportly poor work habits.

*If DGB is as lazy as everyone would say then he wouldn't pass the Ravens conditioning test "to take" practice reps from anyone anyway *

Harbaugh certainly isn't the type of coach to just give away practice reps to an unproven young player without them earning it.

It's amazing guys can be so optimistic for a player like Camparnaro who's played what 11 or 12 games in 3 seasons, and hasn't done much when playing but it's completely out of question to have a 24 yr WR in for Preseason.
First off - I made the Matthews comment tongue in cheek. I thought the "once" made that pretty clear....

2nd TWest was out of shape - he admitted as much, and they've clearly found upgrades. It's worked out very well for them, they had one of the best run games in the league, whereas we had one of the worst w/ West. And while he's been ok, hes nothing more than an average back in a committee. Dixon clearly brought a lot more to the table, and if not for injury/suspension - West's role probably wouldnt be all that great with us.

DGB had decent numbers his rookie year. But he's had a less than 50% catch rate both years, several drops, last year he average 10yd/reception which is terrible for a size/speed guy, and 2 TD's. Also terrible for a guy his size.

He's not much of a deep threat bc hes horrible at winning jump balls for a guy his size. Hes not good over the middle bc he doesnt use his body well at all, and he doesnt bring much in the red zone. His catch rate is bad, so hes not a possession receiver thats going to consistently pick up 1st downs.

The Eagles arent giving up on any other young receivers. Matthews is just a slot receiver though who theyve tried to extend but hes holding out for the big market Odell and Evans and them are going to set.... but hes not the playmaker those guys are.... yet could probably command $10m/yr or more and theyre not going to pay that for a guy with a limited skill set.

So they put him on the block bc its better to get something for him now instead of just letting him walk in FA. They couldnt get value so they decided to keep him, and let the market decide what hes worth. Youre making it sound like they traded him for peanuts or cut him.

Aghalor admitted he was having mental and confidence issues. Worst drop rate in the NFL. And they brought him back and hes supposedly having a great camp so far. He'll get a chance.

They brought back Bryce Treggs. Everyone except DGB. Everyone.

On the conditioning test part - laziness and out of shape are two different things. Someone can be a phenomenal athlete and still not care or try when it comes to playing.

And whether its Moore hes taking snaps from... or guys at the bottom like Matthews, Reynolds, White, etc... hed be eating snaps from someone. He's not going to crack the top 3 so what's the point? We've got more important things to use roster spots on than figuring out who's going to be taking the 6th WR spot.

And youre right... Harbs isnt the type of coach to just give anyone undeserving of snaps a shot - and thats exactly why DGB wont be signed. We should only be bringing in players that can compete for a role on this team... not just bring guys in to be camp bodies, especially not at a position where we already have like 6-8 tryout type players.
