Yanda was the best OLine playee in football and it honestly to me was not close. I think he can get back to being the best guard in football and that isn't something that isn't great to have but that is still a small step below what he was.

Anyone think Senat could play guard in the future? I know he’s a project and a sixth round pick, just wondering.

Drafting a S to replace Weddle would be nice, so is a RB, or a 3 down OLB (man I hate the Ravens not having a 2nd) but for now the OLine is everything.

Okay Mr. Know-it-all. It's not like Hurst was at least a passable guard last season and is a decent starter(yes I've critcized him to no end, I'm not perfect). It's also not like we drafted a C with starter upside in Bozeman who already is developing decently and could very well be a starter next season. Or we can attack it in FA. Or have another guard we drafted that looked like he could be a starter one day. It's not like our starting C has been way better than anticipated. Or like the oline sucks in general, at least it can pass protect which already puts it ahead of half of the league.

Yeah. Not every starter on the offensive line is going to be elite. I'd like a new C or LG too but for all we know we have confidence in the guys going forward. We likely aren't going to address it as heavily as we have to.

But you know everything so yeah.

I think Siragusa and Bozeman have starter upside. They're not ready yet, but they already look like damn good run blockers who can anchor very well. It's not a guarentee but if they figure out how to be solid (not good, just solid) pass protectors then this oline could be dominant come 2019. I do think we drafted Bozeman in mind with him eventually taking over as a starter somewhere one day, and I think he could be a good starter for ten years.

I think you could debate that Yanda is having the best year he's had in years. Especially considering that he's sandwiched in between Hurst at RT, and Skura. Though Skura has been much better than anticipated.

I'm still convinced we are one major and obvious fix away from fixing the run blocking problem. This oline has been very good in pass protection though and Collins looked like his old self last week. I'm not as worried as I was at the start of the season. I'd like us to draft a Yanda replacement but good guards can be found anywhere and interior olinemen last forever. It would not surprise me at all if Yanda had another 3 really good years left because of it.

Maybe. Who thought Ryan Jensen, a 6th round pick from Colorado State-Pueblo, would be one of the top centers in football? Lol

Do you get this defensive when anyone disagrees with you or am I special? I mean that's all I did was have a different opinion which may or may not be right as they often go either way.

On the topic though, maybe we disagree on philosophy but OLine is one of the three areas you most need to win (QB and corner being other 2) and so I will generally trend towards drafting more OLine.

That being said, I think our RBs are both better than Hurst at G or possibly Bozeman at Center (I have no opinion on him beyond he looked bad in preseason which tells me he wasn't ready then).

So if the position is more important and the upgrade is bigger why not focus there?

Unrelated man Lewis and Goose have been disappointing.

Senat looked good in preseason but his natural attributes would lend themselves better at tackle I think - I think the hope is we develop him into a high-level swing tackle/6th OL

I’m okay with people disagreeing with me. But you convey it in a way where you think you know everything and your answer is final. I disagree with all these people and they don’t do the same hence why I’m not that hostile. And you try to make EVERYTHING an argument when it’s not. I disagree with a lot of people, but you literally act like you know everything. I get passionate with my opinions but I still hold high regard for the majority of the members here.

Seriously dude. It’s how you come across even if you don’t mean it. I’m guilty of it too. Hence my working on it.

Pass rushers also being just as important.

that's an incredibly ambiguous and subjective measuring stick and also relates to the quality of other OL in the league too
I'd argue Yanda hasn't really taken a step down in play for the last 3-4 years now but Zach Martin probably has become a better guard (mostly because he's an absolute freak)

ive seen no signs of decline at all in yanda's play - he looks like the same ol' guy to me

If I knew everything I wouldn't bother replying because I have all the information. I engage in these conversations to grow my knowledge and know more than I did going in which I consider an ideal goal for most discussions I have about things.

Who are you calling defensive. @Lost_In_Translation is not pushing his agenda and in many instances he has pointed out when he is wrong, ie Hurst has been much better than he thought even with all the help and Kenny Young and in many other instances. When have you admit you were wrong?

Several times in several instances including the last time I was asked to name the things I had been wring about it one of the game threads and I rattled off several without scratching the surface.

Hell if I were never wrong I would be undefeated im our pick em league instead of wondering what happened to Jacksonville.
