You suggested trade a second round pick, and then say it's not a second round pick. I get what you're saying it's just stupid. It's not a second round pick. It's a Ravens second round pick which, recently, equals nothing at all.
Although, I was actually joking. His salary is quite high so a fifth or sixth is as high as we should go.

You NEVER let past mistakes dictate your draft. It's like when people said we should never draft a Florida db because Elam was a bust, or Ozzie shouldn't draft first round WRs because Clayton and Taylor. That's not how it works.
We've also gotten Torrey, KO, Jernigan, and most recently bowser who's arrow is pointing way up. A ravens second round pick isn't totally futile, we've just had bad luck recently.
And regardless, the second round has talent, always, not having a second round pick for whatever reason will make every team kick themselves as they see talented players fall off the board
I just saw this article, its the first I heard of it. Has anyone heard anything on this? Thoughts?

6th or 7th rd pick only for him. he would ease some of my concerns about the rb group.I just saw this article, its the first I heard of it. Has anyone heard anything on this? Thoughts?

Besides if you don't want to use 2nd rounders because as you say they are worthless, wouldn't it be just better to trade down and multiply the pick...
Oops.....guess the sarcasm button would work after all. You're both right . I agree that we shouldn't trade a 2nd round pick for Ingram. I was joking about the Ravens bad luck with second round picks, that's all.
That's 2 sarcasm based mix ups for me in one day.
My actual opinion is that Ingram would help the team and I wouldn't mind trading a 5th or 6th for him, as I said.
Yeah, I'd give a seventh for Ingram. When healthy he's far better than West, in my opinion. But anything higher than a seventh would just be too much for an older RB behind a questionable line.6th or 7th rd pick only fro him. he would ease some of my concerns about the rb group.
Jamaal Charles recently was mention by The Broncos head coach to make the 53 man sqaud after his solid preseason preformance . Carlos Hyde, Matt Jones, and Jeremy Langford all are three running backs that could be cut and interest The Ravens.Yeah, a second rounder for Ingram is way too much, just based on his injury history. I believe some good RBs will be cut after preseason, maybe a Jamaal Charles or a Carlos Hyde could be had for cheaper trade value, esp since those teams could use DL help.

I wouldn't expect for the 49ers to ship Hyde away for a defensive lineman. They've spent a 1st round picks on DTs and a DE in each of the past three drafts, and they still have Aaron Lynch as a bookend.Yeah, a second rounder for Ingram is way too much, just based on his injury history. I'd even be okay with a mid rounder. But a second? No. He's not good enough to warrant that. That said, he went to Alabama so he's a wildcard with Ozzie....I wouldn't mind trading for Ingram, though his style and abilities are very much similar to West's. A 2nd rounder would be robbery, however.
Agreed wholeheartedly. Mileage, injury history, a contract above a rookie scale. You could find a bonafide long-term starter in the 2nd.I'd even be okay with a mid rounder. But a second? No. He's not good enough to warrant that. That said, he went to Alabama so he's a wildcard with Ozzie....
I'd much rather have our resources dedicated to the line, but wouldn't object to this if the price is reasonable.
I know but they're pretty thin otherwise aren't they? Their run defense was terrible so they could look for a Carl Davis to beef up the middle.I wouldn't expect for the 49ers to ship Hyde away for a defensive lineman. There have been talks of them possibly cutting him. So if I were San Francisco I would trade and get whatever I could out of him instead of cut him even if it was a depth player.I wouldn't expect for the 49ers to ship Hyde away for a defensive lineman. On the flip side if there is a good chance of him being cut there is no reason the Ravens should trade for him unless they do not believe a player they will trade has any chance of making the 53 man roster.
Alright that would make sense then thank you for your clarification SandtownI think since Hyde is still on his rookie deal he would have to go through the wavier process first. I think the wavier systems works out in the order of The NFL Draft like it is in the first round .So let's say The 49ers decide to cut Carlos Hyde but The Jets are interested in him which would be realistic since Matt Forte isn't getting any younger. The Jets would have the right to claim Hyde before The Ravens because they originally picked before The Ravens in The NFL Draft. So if The Ravens had any form of interest in Carlos Hyde it would be risky for them allow him to go to the wavier process but Hyde hasn't really been the most healthiest player either so I'm not entirely sure it would be in The Ravens best interest to invest in another injury prone player.
