WR/RB Thread

No way they keep both Cobb and Nelson over Adams at those salaries.
I'd say Cobb is as good as gone but Nelson is up in age and clearly the shadow of old Nelson. Didn't look too impressive while Rodgers was still playing.

i agree that adams has to be the number 1 priority and whatever happens happens but im interested to see which contract is easier to get out of...

so ive just had a look and actually both cobb and nelson only have 1 year left on their deals and both only leave the packers with about 2-3 mill of dead cap - their cap hits next year are both pretty around 12 mill too so they literally just need to cut the one that they least want to keep/re-sign

i imagine the packers will extend nelson to lower his cap figure and decrease his annual number and then cut cobb

so my question at this point would be... is cobb a guy we'd be interested in especially given that he wouldnt count against the comp pick formula being a cap casualty

He's OK but we need better.
Which we won't have because we can't have nice things.

haha that's my line...
and im not talking about cobb coming in as a number 1 guy but someone who could supplement maybe a high draft pick with maclin and whoever else we keep
I always felt like Cobb was going to be the next Emmanuel Sanders, AB type slot receiver in that he could be a really high volume target from the slot, despite a small frame. Just hasn't turned out that way recently.

cobb was being paid like a borderline number 1 so underperforms when nelson isnt out there and he's now number 3 on the depth chart and ill admit i havent watched enough packers oriented film to see whether cobb is actually not playing well

I mean, I don't know what the issue is, but in 2012 and 2014, he looked good and he's not putting up even remotely close to the same numbers.

in 2015 cobb struggled because he was the number 1 guy by default after nelson went down and that hijacked their offence a little bit because devante adams hadnt had time to develop enough yet

i couldnt tell you about the last 2 years though - have you been watching the tape? does he actually look worse or is he just not being targeted as much?

If I had my way, I would have gone Watson... and the year before that, I would have gone Dodd and Alexander... and the year before that, Watkins... and the year before that, Nuke...

Love me some Clemson.
I actual thought we would take Hassan Reddick if he was there and Corey Davis was taken. Really happy with humphrey though

I thought the Ravens would take Humphrey all the way. Oh, how am I forgetting Mike Williams...

Had Corey Davis, Mike Williams, and Humphrey been there, I'd like to think the Ravens would have gone Williams, honestly. Just would have fit this offense so well.

man i loved me some corey davis on film though - that route running was beautiful

isnt davante adams gonna be a UFA?
the only reason i ask is because he's indisputably the packers number 1 wr (or at least that's how opposing defences see him) but the packers already have money tied up in both jordy nelson and randall cobb and they wont be able to keep all 3 - so either adams goes because they cant afford him or cobb/nelson get cut and enter the market as cap casualties
I think Cobb is gone as well. I don't see them keeping Cobb and letting Adams go. Not at all.

This team needs playmakerS so bad, and not even just one, we need MULTIPLE playmakers who can CATCH THE BALL and gain yards afterwords.

Do Dixon and West have roster spots next season? I’m really liking this three man rotation of Collins, Buck and Woodhead. No need to change it unless someone gets injured.
