im sorry but this is ridiculous...

who's asking for this?
i know the players arent...
and i know the fans definitely arent...
so who wants this?

Im all for it. Catch the ball, throw it back to the ref, celebrate with the boys, run the next play. No need to be an ass and taunt someone. A little more class would do the NFL some good

ok but now things like spinning the ball or flexing anywhere near an opponent is gonna be taunting - basically celebrating with the boys becomes taunting in these scenarios

It’s a heated, violent, and dramatic contact sport. I’m all for taunting to a degree. I think college is way too strict on taunting and the nfl has been just right on taunting, getting stricter I think is gonna be a problem

I gotcha and I totally get that perspective. I'm big on forcing my Marines to fight each other often as each is required to achieve a certain Martial Arts (equally as violent) belt. I also encourage them to intimated and flex on each other, talk a little shit. However, we keep it within the lateral limits of the teachings that BJJ is rooted in. The NFL guys take it too far, the shit talking doesn't seem to come from a place of respect for each other, and I'm just tired of watching dudes celebrate every catch, tackle, incomplete pass etc... Feel bad for the kids watching that thinking “o that's how i should act on my game day”

Maybe I'm too old school. I enjoy some trash talk with the best of them. Just think these guys take it to far. I think a drastic correction will do the NFL some good. Im over the receiver spinning the ball after an 8 yard slant or the CB acting like deion sanders after the QB over threw his reciever by ten yards.

idk man - it seems like a nothing play but each of these individual successes is what these guys have been working for their whole lived

bill bellicheck’s a massive proponent of getting hyped and being demonstrative - it’s a great way of getting yourself and your team in the right head space

and it’s slightly different to your marines in the sense that at the end of the fights they’re still team-mates (more akin to spinning the ball or taunting a teammate during a scrimmage at practice or something) - the players in game are not teammates and the only common ground they have with the opponent is that they’re playing the same game

Yeah I gotcha, I think a lot more respect is shown post game then we know, especially afterwards when the players call or text each other..... I'd just like to avoid repeats of last year with Lamar leading the guys off the field, doesn't sit right with me even though I know the titans were being equally as docuhey

Are we gonna ignore the fact that deshon Elliott said “dont fuck up” in his media availability, and no reporters or ravens staff members acknowledged it, and they uploaded it to YouTube like that?

Unrelated news my move to Tampa is complete and i just couldn't help myself. #sellout

Facts, standing over the ball carrier you just hammered, waving goodbye, spinning the ball right in their faces, even the logo stomp for me was beautiful. I love all that shit, just watching it makes me wanna strap tf up and go earhole somebody.

mark andrews low key is a taunting mfer and I love it, that dude brings the energy for real. I loved when Lamar shouldered tf out of Malcolm butler during a TD celebration and andrews stared him down like “wtf you gonna do?”

I absolutely love it when Andrews does the "Salt Bae" in a defender's face after catching a pass lol

As long as the taunting isn't excessive then I have no problems with it and, generally, it can make the games more fun to watch. Using the Titans as an example, would there even be as much of a rivalry if they didn't jumpstart it by stomping on our logo? And then watching us return the favor in the playoffs was just so goddamn SATISFYING. It just adds a whole other level to the drama of these games when the teams literally hate each other.
