Henry Ruggs kills someone drunk driving and all the media cares about is Aaron Rodgers being vaccinated. Like it's his choice, his body, if he doesn't want to get it then he shouldn't be forced to get it. It's crazy how quickly Aaron Rodgers is being made an example of just for good PR.
LOL, so a couple of things here:
1. Honestly, why is Ruggs a story beyond like one day? What's the purpose of even talking about him? He's no longer an NFL player, he will almost certainly never be an NFL player ever again, and he's going to spend a lengthy amount of time in prison. What is there to discuss, exactly?
You can find somebody who did something very similar in your local newspaper every day, and we don't spend any time at all talking about that person. So why talk about Ruggs?
2. I'm not sure the media (outside of some of the more liberal quacks) are really caring so much about whether Rodgers is or isn't vaccinated per-say. I think they care about the fact that a) he pretty much intentionally gave the perception to the media several months ago that he was vaccinated by his little "I'm immunized" line, and b) it doesn't appear physically possible that Rodgers or the Packers were following all of the COVID protocol for unvaccinated players, because we have pretty clear instances of him in videos, photos, etc. not doing so.
So for most, it's not really even a single player is vaccinated or not vaccinated issue. It basically appears that the NFL and/or the Packers organization doesn't give a rip about protocols that the league has established for itself, and that they're certainly willing to take substantial health and liability risks to avoid being in compliance. And at a time where the league is already getting shit on from a PR standpoint for multiple failures, the inability to adhere to protocol they implemented during a human health crisis would certainly be pretty terrible optics for the league.
Now, realistically, that's just the liberal media's point of view. In reality, the general public cares because Aaron Rodgers he is a significantly more impactful player in the NFL than Henry Ruggs is, and because Rodgers missing a game or two hurts sports betting, hurts fantasy sports, and makes it more likely that fans of the Packers will see their team lose an additional game or two that they may or may not have previously. At the end of the day, it's the "selfishness" in all of us.
Here's the truth that most people REALLY think but won't ever admit publicly, because it makes them look bad to do it. I don't really care about anybody who doesn't interact with me or my family vaccination status. At a personal level, if Lamar Jackson never got vaccinated, I wouldn't care. The only reason I care if he does or doesn't is because it impacts the team that I cheer for. That's it. They're Pro Athletes. You only care about them because they're entertainment. Most of us will never know these people personally, will never meet them, won't have any insight at all into their personal lives. They could be serial killers, rapists, thieves, anti-vax, pro-vax, drug addicts, alcoholics, and a litany of other things, some of which would make us cringe at a human level. Others may be the second coming of Jesus Christ for all we know. We don't know them, and they don't know us.
People need to admit the REAL reasons they care about things, not the fake one's.
