I care because I hate people who abuse others, children in particular.

because i have empathy for other human beings

dont get me wrong, what he did was not acceptable after reading about it, especially knowing what the kid was already obviously going through, and what happened afterwards. i didnt know he whipped him with tree branches until bloodshed, then hit the kid on the balls, c'mon ap, i understand the concern, but my point was, dont try to tell other people how to raise their kids.

The problem is the Ravens are stuck in their old ways and refuse to adapt. OC has been there 3 years too long, Harbaugh probably should’ve been fired in the offseason. The front office has used the vast majority of its assets on defense, investing particularly heavily in run defense. I’m fully expecting them to pay Mosley like an elite player, just like they did Brandon Williams. Meanwhile we still won’t have a consistent pass rusher or cover guy in the middle despite paying guys like it. On offense, they regularly utilize four tight ends and a fullback. They don’t have any explosive weapons outside of John Brown so they end up having to methodically move down the field which requires you to play near mistake free. And despite the annual Harbaugh talk of “we’re building an elite offensive line”, they’ve rarely invested significant picks or money into it. Also, the entire team is based on depth rather than actual game changing talent, which only works to a degree.

Man, I wish we invested more in the offense in the past 3 offseasons. The elite defenses we used to know of are pretty much dead now in the modern day NFL. It's pretty hard to play defense and the last great defensive team in the NFL was the 2015 Broncos and I don't think we're going to ever see a defense like that ever again. You need a defense, definitely, but I don't think you need an elite one with the way the game is being played. I hope we go all in on offense this upcoming season once we cut our losses and recoup some cap space.

I would love to see K.O return here.

No way Ko would return. I remember he was insulted at our offer ( and I don’t blame him dude was a major reason for success on our line and easily gave us the best duo) and then he talked crap about us before we played him.

On the other hand, earl Thomas is a free agent this offseason. Do we cut either Jefferson or weddle and cut our loses? Weddle is great but he’s lacking all speed and I’m just scared he’s gonna continue to fall off. Earl would give us a rare talent back there.

Isn't Weddle a FA?

he's a FA after the 2019 season. But cutting him this off season frees up ~7m in cap space. Earl Thomas would be very nice in that case.
I have a feeling Weddle tries and gambles too much and this leads to all those blown coverages.

man i hate to say this but im gonna agree with yall and say we need to start lamar next season! Idc if he not ready and still inaccurate.. i mean cant he be any worse than eli or blake bortles? I highly doubt he will make dumb throws that flacco has been making his whole career ( tried to tell yall since forever).. cam is a fucking threat and legit has been carrying that team for yrs.

Yeah - KO is gone forever.

From the Sun "“The Ravens again face a talent deficit on the offensive line. This problem has haunted the franchise for several years.”"

That's what happens when you let Wagner, KO and Jensen walk. We've gone on the cheap on the O line now for years and have thrown our big money on the defensive side of the ball ... and now we sit wondering what we really have on defense after recent performances.

I wouldn’t say that because there’s a new GM in town. KO said we didn’t respect the OL and it looks true now that we’ve let talented guys walk, granted we couldn’t afford them all but still there’s some value there. KO has his injuries though so let’s not discredit that because he’d be another guy not contributing due to injury and we’d complain about it. He’s having knee issues and I believe that was a problem here as well.

Yea I don’t trust his knees the dude was a beast but he always seemed way to big for his body. If we get rid of harbs I could see it

Ugh, he probably wouldn’t come back but he’s a really good option imo who would be in line for a huge bounce back season.

I don’t think Jefferson gets cut, Weddle and jimmy are the likely cut candidates.

Yeah he is great and very good when healthy but he’s had issues staying healthy. I guarantee people would be bitching about extending another injury prone guy if we extended him. I don’t think Harbaugh is the issue with getting KO back as I think that was more Ozzie juggling the cap with Dick.

I’d get rid of Jefferson before Weddle because I think if you keep Weddle you can consider letting go of Mosley due to him making the calls and upgrading the guy across from Weddle. We keep putting bandaids on the S position though and I’d love Thomas but dude has had injury issues and on top of it he’s also older. So getting Thomas would just make us older and keep pushing back the illness instead of treating it. It’s not like we had a shot at drafting an elite S this year because Darwin wasn’t available when we picked so we had to go for Hurst but man that would’ve been a good pick. Oh well though amiryt?

I think the cap savings on TJ is only at 3M which is a roadblock in cutting him. It’s not all that great so cutting him might not be worth it. On the other hand Weddle presents 6.5M and he’s older and has been slowing down.

I’m not going to give up on Hurst. I was a big fan of him and was happy when we drafted him. I genuinely think the time off has hurt him and once he gets up to speed will start to do great things.

I see on Jefferson and that does make sense but I guess it depends on whether we keep Mosley because we may value his [Weddle] ability to get guys lined up on defense. That may play a role too because I’m not as confident Mosley gets extended to be honest. It’s not just last game either as I’ve been wondering this and found it strange we haven’t extended him yet.

We obviously tried but he didn’t want to sign due to expiring CBA but I call BS on that because other dudes are signing just not him. I’m thinking we just don’t want to pay him super high and he expects to be paid like Kuechly and those guys, but that’s obviously just my opinion. I also just read Haha Clinton-Dix may be getting traded and I would look into that for sure.

As for Hurst, I’m not giving up on him but I have to say now as I said then that Derwin James > Hayden Hurst

Good point, but I think that probably results in both of them staying.

I still would pick Hurst again, just wish he didn’t have that injury.
