Waddle and Hill and
Smith and Brown are just so clearly elevating below average QB play

its crazy - we dont even need that with lamar lol - just bateman and andrews and literally any functioning receiver

but put 2 1st round WRs on this team with Andrews, JK for Lamar behind this offensive line (depending on what happens with Zeitler, Moses and Powers obviously) but that's exciting

infuriatingly exciting if we can only get Lamar's long-term deal done

Omg Lamar not being locked up is ridiculously infuriating. They're gonna resume after the season, but is it even going to be successful? Secondly, if it is, how long is it going to take? Depending on what happens it could really effect the 2023 team building

Agreed. That's quite literally the only thing that matters. I really hope this extension gets done ASAP so we can focus on Roquan and other signings.

which players are we not signing in order to get Cooper's 20m cap hit on board?
Not a comment like EDC made a mistake. More of a comment saying all we needed was a guy like Cooper. Cooper is not even an elite WR anymore. But just someone you could definitely trust to get you between 800 - 1050 yards, ~6TDs, and forced the defense to respect him.

Jeez the WR market is so inflated right now. Not sure where the help is coming from for us. Majority has to be internal, Bateman getting healthy and a young guy in the draft stepping up

Yeah it's like the Browns aren't going to be super upset by any means with what they got out of Cooper this year. But 20m is a lot for kind of a standard low 1000 yard guy.

i think the steelers were so far ahead of the game strategically in this regard

take at least 1 WR basically every single year somewhere on day 1 or day 2 - it keeps a production line of talent coming in, makes older guys replaceable (less need to pay a guy who's only hall of very good), you need more than 2-3 good/talented WRs on your team anyway, puts less emphasis on younger guys to make immediate game-changing impacts

i understand why we didnt take a WR based on the class and what happened - but we need to make sure we get one with one of our first 2 picks in this upcoming draft (as well as probably having to pay a vet if we can find one we like at a not-exorbitant price)

We need Bateman, obviously, but we also need a better WR2 and Bateman insurance given his health issues
