The Random Thought Thread

i mean some of that is that defences play you different in the redzone because of the shorter field
but the level at which we consistently went away from the run in that area of the field was self-defeating
Going away from the run at the most inopportune times (when it is working) pissed me off this entire season.

Should DeCosta be on the hot seat for failing to get Lamar signed early, in line with every other top QB? The Ravens are either going to have to pay a hell of a lot more than in Year 3 or 4 or, even worse, they're lose a franchise QB over money, something that hasn't happened in decades.

Either way you look at it, it's a pretty monumental fuck up at the most important position, yet EDC seems very complacent and secure in his job.

It takes two to agree to a contract. We really don't know if The Ravens didn't attempt to sign Lamar earlier and honestly even if he did sign him earlier the way Jackson keeps missing games for the past two years there would be fans or even media pointing fingers at DeCosta for that as well

With Romans contract being expired, who else thinks that his leaving/firing won’t be announced until we start having discussions with potential replacements? Just hoping he goes quietly

I'm doubting it'll be quiet. They'll almost surely release a statement when/if applicable. If I had to guess, news comes out early next week. Would think the decision has already been made but they're going to try to avoid answering all of those questions at the presser tomorrow.

You don’t think they’d just get it over with and announce it tomorrow during the presser?

True stuff man, don’t wanna be put on the spot with awkward questions and answers. The main talk will probably revolve around Lamar to set the records straight

Much easier to say that they're still talking things over than it is to say that he's gone and then have a barrage of questions about what you're looking for in the next one, is the offense going to change, is it hard to recruit with Lamar's questions, etc.

Especially when the main points will probably be about how they were impressed with Lamar’s rehab, his willingness to compete, yadda yadda yadda

Nah that presser is usually a big nothing burger. Talk mostly about what went well, avoid the bad and the ugly at all cost. They will assure us that all things will be fine.

I think they usually retreat to buscuits place in Florida, spend a few days on his boat, enjoy a few cocktails, and then decide who stays and goes. But maybe not.

The Bengals defense is very well coached. They are normally good at defending against the run. I just think Roman probably was over thinking somethings but in regards to Huntley QB sneak that's just a players messing up a play,
