Playoff scenarios.....

So as it appears, if we win the division we most likely will play a home game vs the Chargers. If the Steelers win the division we go to Texas to play the Texans. I'd prefer to win the division, but I believe the easier matchup is vs the Texans. Just allowing Jim Harbaugh get another shot at his older brother would have my digestive system out of wack.

Think we are going to win the division. The most important thing is for us to win both games. But if we only win 1, it needs to be vs Cleveland. If Pitt only loses one, it better be to Cincy

Id prefer the Chargers coming east to us , freezing cold, and a banged up Herbert…… but I think it’s irrelevant because Tomlin his going to have his team ready and rebound in KC. I see us both finishing 12-5 with a dramatic and meaningful week 18

Another thing I don't understand. If last year we were able to play Hamilton as a big Nickel and Marcus Williams as FS, then why haven't we been able to play Hamilton the same way with Ardarius playing FS?

I get that they all play all the positions to some extent but, I don't recall Ardarius playing near the LOS so much. So have we been playing tons of 2 deep safeties? Meaning a significantly different defense as well?

I hope lamar makes the Sb.. then i hope he charges everyone crazy amounts to put him in the SB commercials and ads… then during those SB commercials and ads, i hope he promotes his new fragrance along side with his mom being in them.

Ar'Darius is playing well but he doesn't have anywhere close to the range Marcus has when he's not fucking up. I think leaving him as a true single high would put us close to where we were early in the season. In an ideal world, Ar'Darius is more of a S3 that rotates in with a rangy guy while Hamilton moves all over... but we do not have that rangy guy right now with whatever happened to Marcus.

There's also the communication aspect and apparently Kyle is keeping things in tip top shape back there, so don't rebreak what is now seemingly fixed.

I'm not suggesting to change anything at all. I guess I'm just confused. So Orr relays the call to Ro, Ro passes it to Kyle now, and Kyle relays to the secondary? Then Ro relays the call to the LOS? We've seen so much less communication issues which is great but I'm just ignorant about this and find it interesting. Why couldn't Ardarius do that? Why couldn't Marcus do that? Is this even how that works normally? What was the operation with MM last year with respect to communication?

I don't know if we'll ever know the firm answer on what the difference is, but it's also not quite as cut and dry as Ro commanding the entire defense from play call to snap. There's a defensive play call of course, but there's also reading what the offense is giving you and making adjustments there too. I can only imagine that the secondary was trying to do that but the messaging was not making it across the 4-6 of them, but Kyle has been the secret recipe.

If we win the division, assuming things stay where they are. Then this essentially sets up a Lamar revenge tour on the way to the Super Bowl and potentially at the Super Bowl.

Wild Card - Chargers: Lamar's rookie year we lost to the Chargers in the Wild Card Round.

Divisional - Bills: If Bills remain the 2 seed then we head to Buffalo for a playoff rematch where Lamar got knocked out and started the injury woes for him.

Championship - Chiefs: Barring an upset, we should be heading to KC for a AFC Championship Rematch, just like we did in 2012 against the Patriots. Revenge for last year.

Super Bowl - Eagles: Avenge the regular season loss to them this year by beating them in the game that matters most.

Nick Wright. He hasn't won 2 Super Bowls. Monse Bolano "He's Not Quarterbacky Enough". The rest of the media - eh, only reason he won was due to King Henry.

It's like someone flipped a switch, much like when Weddle came to us. Communications instantly improved.

When the Ravens came on the board for the draft this year and they showed the team needs what they showed was: WR, CB, OL, and DL.

S was not even considered remotely a need 3 years ago when that pick came in. They had just paid 15m per year in FA and Clark already slotted to start along with Stone as a backup people liked. When that pick happened people were wondering what kind of packages were going to be built because of how overloaded the team now was at S.

Flash forward to this year. You had Humphrey locked in as a starter and Stephens who was considered mediocre but workable. Behind them you had nothing and everyone knew they had nothing behind them because a lot of the snaps signed deals elsewhere. That means when Wiggins was picked nobody wondered how he would see the field. It was obvious as there was a clear starting spot available for him.

Nobody really doubted where Wiggins would start on day 1 because it was an obvious need. The same is true of Linderbaum. With Hamilton it was viewed as "He will be a great tool to develop this year and use going forward and if he breaks out as a starter this year that is great as well". That is the definition of drafting BPA.
It's BPA... at a position of need. No team is ever perfect from a roster standpoint, so there will always be at least 2 or 3 possible positions that will be taken in the first round. Corner was a clear "need" in that Humphrey was coming off an injury-riddled, disappointing season, and Stephens was in a contract year. We spent the entire offseason debating about which one of those two wouldn't be back in 2025.

Hamilton is probably the only first round pick I can recall where there was no clear "need" for another Safety on the roster. And the only reason he's a Raven is because for some reason he continued to fall so far and even EDC said he couldn't believe he was available when we drafted. They didn't even due a ton of diligence on him in pre-draft process because they thought he was too good to waste their time on.
