The Random Thought Thread

I've been seeing so many posts on the net about the Giants ruining their franchise since they failed to get 1st overall in the draft. Too many believe that the top pick is a guaranteed franchise changer, and that you can't get that guy otherwise. The Jags have back to back first overall picks on their team, and have four wins this season.

Like one 1st overall in the last 5 drafts has actually been that kind of guy, Joe Burrow back in 2020. And honestly no qb in this draft looks like a second coming of Burrow.
lol, they have sucked for about a decade or longer so ruining their franchise because they don't have the 1st pick to grab a bad QB coming out of this class. Good comparison with the Jags, btw.

If we drew Steelers and Chargers won wild card weekend I could see them potentially beating KC, weird division rival magic
I hesitate to agree with you but the Chargers are the one team we don’t want to see in the second round as they could potentially derail the season. I would far rather it be the Steelers or Houston.I don’t think the Bills can handle the Ravens regardless of where the game is played. I suspect we will see a rematch of last year’s championship game. We have had issues at times with Henry and who knows what happens.

Assuming KC rests it's starters on Sunday, which Andy Reid has always done when his team has secured its spot in the playoffs, I think KC is a prime upset candidate. Having 23 days between football games is way too much time off and they will come out sloppy, it just depends on if the other team can take advantage of that sloppiness

because that doesn't get brought up at all by the media. They just love Joe Burrow.
TBF, the dude has been playing his ass off and deserves respect. You couldn't help but be impressed with the way he played against us despite getting hammered from start to finish.

oh yeah, I totally respect Burrow. He's an elite QB and one of the big 4 as I've recently said (mahomes, Lamar, Allen, Burrow) and in no particular order.

I've been trying to get people to understand this when it comes to Bateman. People love to glaze Bateman because of separation stats, but all Ravens receivers have good separation stats.

Lamar presents a very real threat with his legs, so teams are going to play a lot more zone than normal to keep the play in front of them and not get burned on scrambled. Zone coverage creates more windows and "higher separation."

I used to fucking hate Burrow but Josh’s flopping and crying ass has slowly started to take his place

Kc not getting upset by them guys lol! Maybe if it was bengals.. i can see bills losing to broncos or something before kc lose to anyone other than ravens, bills or bengals( if make it).. kc isnt new to this

Chargers absolutely could upset KC, with KC being rusty and divisional fuckery going on. Your forgetting that 23 days without playing a game is a LONG time. And let's not forget that it took the chiefs blocking a kick to breat the broncos the first time, while it's unlikely the Broncos absolutely could pull of the upset and knock KC out

Idk about KC being rusty after 23 days off. Andy Reid and Mahomes have done it plenty of times. Plus they play rusty about every week and still get it done so I don't have the confidence most of you have lol

The Chargers are the only team that could do it

Divisional Fuckery… that’s a great way to put it. I agree that the Chargers could get us. Herbert can look the part at times and regardless it would be closer than I would like. As to the 23 days… the offense has sputtered and choked at times all year so we might not even notice a difference. That time will do nothing but make the defense stronger as they are starting to click.

I just liked a post from @Carptom1 , this means Lamar can also overcome his demons and win the Super Bowl this year.

I’m tired of the box score watchers right now, people are ignoring passing attempts and just looking at TD numbers. Allen had another push tush and had two jump ball TDs, one at least was a normal semblance of a play the other was a total prayer. Burrow has almost 4 additional games worth of attempts and currently Orlowsky is saying Flowers and Bateman are helping Lamar more than Chase and Higgins because of separation...

Not saying either aren’t having great years but Lamar might post the highest passer rating of all time which wouldn’t be too bad for a running back. He’s probably gonna have 4K yards throwing with 40 passing TDs, something many said he’d never do.

I agree I said this at the start of the year as well. I don't think I’ll ever get to see Burrow with some of the cast Lamar has had around him, but it is interesting to see how someone like , say Sam Darnold looks with elite WR play.

I still don't fully trust the defense. They have shown great improvement but how much is us or the competition. They've turned it around from a complete shit show but look at who we've played and when. A shut out is great but Texans haven't been great and had just lost their wr2. Steelers didn't have Pickens. Same for the OL.

That said we have a enough to get it done if everyone handles their business.
