Hypocrisy more than anything. Hunt was dumb and deserved suspension, but even I wasn’t sure a cut was necessary. If the ravens signed him and the ray rice shit never happened I wouldn’t care, but after them handling ray rice the way they did, it would be unacceptable to sign hunt after the chiefs literally followed the ravens precedent all the way down to the “following statements”
because the organisation would have done something that represents a tolerance (and implicit acceptance) of something i vehemently oppose the acceptability of

I don’t condone domestic violence in any way, shape or form, but Ray Rice’s video was much, much worse. We have a couple of underage drunk girls (which I’m assuming weren’t even charged for underage drinking), getting in Hunt’s face and yelling racial slurs. He pushed her away and she kept coming back for more trying to instigate. TMZ milked that headline for as much money as they could. It’s not like he cold-clocked her Joe Mixon style.

i cant believe the number of people on this board who justify/explain away his actions just because it wasnt as bad...

On a scale of 1-10. 1 being a stern shoulder bump, 10 being murder. If Joe Mixon was an 8 and is playing, then obviously only 9 and 10 on the scale should be punishable and are perfectly fine.

People make mistakes man. Hunt has never been in any kind of trouble before. Go and look at our history. We’ve allowed guys to play that have presumably done much worse. Only difference is this what caught on camera. Come on bro, I’ve “brutalized” my pops much worse when we were play fighting when I was a kid. It’s the headline that’s milking this thing. He pushed her away and kicked her in the butt. But I digress. I don’t think he becomes a Raven anyways because of the Rice thing.

I’d take him too. Maybe in 2020 after he spends a season out of the game while on a speaking tour about how we need to wake the fuck up and change our mindset of resorting to physical violence - especially in the face of women - at the least possible slight or provocation. How it can and should effect you. And of course show through his actions not just words that he understands that. Until then nobody should touch him.
And what young talented players have we stayed away from because of Rice? Mixon? You’d really want him on our team? Not sure who else we’ve passed on that was an obvious talent worth risking the possible PR nightmare.
