The Random Thought Thread

I think we've really ran the "smartest man in the room" syndrome into these positional issues. Yes we always have 8 all pros, but when it's at fullback, ilb, safety etc it does mean a lot less. The guys who fall who aren't in premium positions fall for a reason - no matter how great they are, they just can't make the same impact as a OLB, WR, or LT. it'd be better to have a 10th best player at some of those spots than a top 5 player at positions that just aren't as impactful

Outside of the 2023 season, it really feels like it's a bad omen when we're scheduled to play the Rams........at least within the last 10 years.

2015 season - catastrophe

2019 season - Skura has a season-ender

2021 season - losing out after starting 8-3

If this team gets its head out of its ass to turn it around and finishes strong that could really push them to the big game. I say it because we all seem to agree talent is there. The only weakness is IDL. We can still fix that via trade. If we turn this around when we get healthy and make necessary adjustments we could be the Giants in that we were counted out and clawed our way back.

First we need to show that grit

in principle i get that but...

who were the guys you'd rather take over nate wiggins in 2024 or kyle hamilton and tyler linderbaum in 2022 (as the lower position value picks at those spots/DBs)

boye mafe/jermaine johnson are maybe the only guys from that 2022 class
maybe jer'zhan (johnny) newton from the 2024 class?

i go back to the same thing i've said elsewhere in this forum - you can't pick prospects that don't exist

Can we just skip ahead to 2026, the hits keep coming. Ravens announced the passing of Wes Henson, AKA Captain Dee-Fense.

Putting a 40 year old QB who wasn't even that mobile at 23 behind that awful OL is certainly a choice.

I’m so excited to see him hopefully sling it to those WRs. I’m glad I have something to be excited about at least this season, may as well have some fun.
