What's going on with Tim Williams? Is he hurt?
I think with him missing so much time, and with our defense playing the way they have been, they just didn’t wanna rush him back and break up a good thing if he potentially had a mental error or re-injured himself.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him stashed the rest of the year barring an injury to someone else, simply because Harbaugh is a fucking moron and thinks what we’re doing is working and that he doesn’t need to add our best speed rusher because the heavy blitzing has been working against less veteran QBs.

Man rivers is gonna toss it right up our poopers if we bring that blitz to him, he’s gonna know what’s coming and know how to counter it. With rivers you gotta go 4 man rush and have a quality rush at that, a 5th on occasion, mix up the coverage, we won’t have the quality rush without Tim.

I’ll give you Brown but Edwards and Lamar? Would you have started Lamar Jackson week 1 vs BUF? I liked Edwards quite a bit but starting both seems like a stretch. I can understand starting Collins and Joe but not Brown. Everyone knew he was better than Hurst at RT.
Yea there was no reason or predictability that Collins would just not be good this year and that a preseason champ would light it up. Brown was super raw and they wanted him in better shape. Hurst didn’t play terrible for the first few games, he shut down Von, and in the game against pitt he completely dominated watt. Brown also played lt his entire life and from what I’ve heard our blocking scheme can be complex. If Lamar got the start over joe we would have fucked up him for good. That’s a move the browns would make

I was harping on Collins from day 1 and got ridiculed until he was benched for being injured, not for lousy play.
I wanted Lamar not from week 1 but as soon as we saw another hot / cold Joe's season is on - no point at that stage to wait any longer. If we made that change sooner, we'd have WC game with home advantage.
I remember you harping on Collins but most wouldn’t have changed that. I can’t fault John for not benching him there. Collins was benched for injury or bad play or both who knows. He was a very big problem so yeah I agree it’s good he was benched. And benching Joe for Lamar even then would’ve been tough. He’s allegedly a HC coaching for his job so putting in a rookie is a huge gamble. You have to admit that’s a bit of a risk.

I'd say expecting a different result after doing the same thing all over again was a bigger risk.
Let's be honest - it's not like he had a choice between Rodgers in a temporary slump and Lamar.

Good point on Hurst shutting down Miller. Totally forgot about that and the game against Watt. He really isn’t as bad as he’s made out to be and I feel he gets a bad rap for nothing really. I do think this is our best lineup though. I think Hurst does very good things inside but he’s underrated at RT.

Joe looked fantastic early in the year. Let’s not cherry pick the performance he had early on in the season. Joe looked great then came back down to reality. I do think Flacco is the core of our problems though.

If we get a really good center, we can go only for a development piece at guard. I don’t think you need 5 elite linemen but if we put hurst in between a very good center and Stanley I wouldn’t mind. The other guy can learn and fill in for yanda (try lol) and if he doesn’t develope it’s something we take a look in at a year or two from now. With no second round pick, I don’t mind going center round one but would prefer to add some talent else where with the 3rd

Bozeman was more than decent yesterday at LG. He might get more look at C as well. Hurst is OK at LG, can cover RT, Brown can cover LT (played it his whole college life) if Ron is out. I hope we don't over-react on O line this coming draft like we did with TE position. It's not like we couldn't use help elsewhere (WR1, interior pass rush, safety...)

“Powerfully built edge defender with a bubble butt that will get Mike Mayock off the couch yelling “praise the lord””

- beginning of draftnetworks write up on Anfernee Jennings. I’m fucking dead.

Jennings is well schooled player. Holds the edge, plays the run, brings the heat when called to. His game vs Clemson in playoff last year was a beauty and the Auburn one this year was better.

Chargers OL is still the weakness of that offence despite them addressing it
Sam Tevi at RT has been better than expected but still not great, Dan Feeney has been disappointing after starting the year well and particularly terrible in pass blocking, Okung has really struggled against speed rushers, they have a former tackle doing ok at RG but not ideal and pouncey doing well at C

and on top of that Forrest Lamp has been mostly a healthy scratch all year

having seen what the chiefs edge guys did to these tackles surely it makes sense to get timmy active and rushing the passer again

Hurst is a great flex backup and 6th OL on a good OL team - he's an above average replacement level player at 2 positions and a great pull blocker so being the 6th OL would potentially suit him too

yeah i remember that game he had against clemson - will be interested to study him this offseason with a fine-tooth comb to see how he comes out at the end of some close study

I’m just talking about the reference of Mayock always talking about bubble butts lmfao.

Jennings is quite a bit like Courtney upshaw to me, mid round guy

That’s what I’m hoping, it just doesn’t seem like Harbaugh wants to play Tim, ZDS is his guy through and through.

And on the ZDS note, I would like to retain him if Harbaugh leaves, he has come on this year and frankly has been a real asset, if he isn’t prioritized in the rush snaps over Tim Williams then I’m fine with him.

But its not just ZDS taking snaps its Tyus being active in stead but not really being used at all in any meaningful way

Man, it sure would be nice if he could be activated and be THAT guy that really makes our defense potent this post season.
Set him out wide and cut him loose on passing downs.
