The Random Thought Thread

Was listening to sports talk 980 yesterday and they were talking about the National Title game and if Nick Saban would ever come to the NFL. This kind of reminded me of the conversation about Pete Carroll. Anyway, they said he would give it a try but he’d have to have a great owner and GM, which he didn’t have in Miami. They also said he’d probably need 15m per year to leave Bama since he’s already making over 11m.

Imagine if the Dolphins ended up with Brees instead of the Saints, That could have changed everything.

Still no State of the Ravens, huh? Seem's like they're really racking their brain to try an spin this season to a positive.

Very smart move if John wasn't very thin skinned and a loyalty hound. I don't expect it to happen because Denison chose to follow Kubiak to Denver when he was offered the OC job here after Kubiak decided to leave. I don't think this will ever allow him back on the sidelines in Baltimore even if it meant the Ravens would improve! This is again my own hypothesis not rooted in inside information but constructed logic based on everything Harbaugh has done for 10 yrs and his tendencies.

Nope! I've been waiting for it. I think the PR staff decided to let things cool down till after the SB before coming out and declaring the same exact things they said last year. Change isn't good. We're a few plays away. Harbaugh did great considering all the injuries. It would make fans happy if I fired everybody but it isn't very smart to do it. Look at the Steelers and their longevity and how successful they are. Look at the Patriots with the same coach and 5 SBs. Etc. Etc. BS. Bull Shit. Big Spanish running with the bulls shit!
It is going to be the same diatribe I fear and hence the delay tactics so fans are less anxious as to the miserable state of the damn Ravens.
 
im watching the replay of the ravens/broncos playoff game and the offense had boldin, torrey, jones, pitta, rice compared to broken down maclin and perriman, wallace who was descent except for when it mattered with all the dropped passes, moore, the fossil watson who was descent as well and collins. ozcosta has work to do

Imagine if we had saban scout tactics over here. He grabs the perfect people to fit his system. Its crazy.

If hindsight were 20-20 we would've won every SB since 1996 perhaps...

The aggregate components of that Raven's team were absolutely not appreciated by our Front Office. They did not understand the chemistry they had. They thought they could make the team better around Joe Flacco by replacing proven players and make the team more Monolithic by weeding out productive players with independent minds.

They tore it down and to this day have not acquired the component parts to restore it.

It was the most obvious and negligent misread ever perpetrated against Raven fans by their Front Office. It was defining and inexcusable and its long past time for the responsible heads to roll.

they brought different skill sets which worked. boldin was the physical go fight for the ball guy, torrey was the deep threat, jones was a deep threat but had great return skills, pitta was the chain mover and ray was the all around back and ozcosta has not replaced any of those guys. i like collins but he is not an all around back. if we could get chubb or guice to pair with collins would be killer. hope steve has laid his final ultimatums with ozcosta and harbs and shit gets done
