The Random Thought Thread

We've got to find a way to get a running game going. It's actually pretty amazing the offense has been able to produce at all considering a putrid 3.4 yards per carry, one spot from the bottom(Cards, 3.2). It's holding them back big time. I understand they have been somewhat limited by the O line issues but the play calling has been for the most part way too predictable. Did they pass on first down once last week?
If we make a move at the trade deadline, I strongly believe it's going to be for the run game. Joe is having a good year, but everyone knows he's better when he has a run game and if we had one I firmly believe that he's bound to have the best year of his career, especially since he has the worst passing defenses ahead of him to end the year.

If I had to guess I’d say probably the hernia still.

Something tells me that was a bit rushed.

Anyways, that one fucking hurts, bad. Good ol’ ravens luck, just when we think we shake the injury bug we lose our top db vs the saints, our top interior pass rusher is out for the year. God dammit. It’s time for sieler to show his shit, he and urban as a DT tandem on nickel packages could be fun, that’s a whole lot of strength and length.

zrebiec said he was limping after the game on sunday in the locker room but didnt know how serious it was
would suggest its not hernia-related though

Yeah, no question. I think pretty much every great offense needs to have a decent run game to present a threat. It’s O line help we need, specifically center and I doubt there’s anyone out there(available). But hey, who knows maybe Bozeman and/or others become Godzilla. lol

I also think Marty could be more creative and use the pass to better set up the run. The incessant first down run play has got to go.

Sounds like DT Willie Henry sustained a back injury in Sunday’s loss to Saints. That’s what’s necessitating him going on IR.

Back injury sounds like maybe he wasn’t in good enough football shape after missing all that time, unless it was a bone related thing. Back injuries often happen for seemingly no reason

not much to trade for rb wise without draining our draft picks. possible choices could be isaiah crowell, jamaal williams and devontae booker who would be my choice. orleans darkwa remains unsigned. lets talk to the raiders about their center hudson.

I don’t think we trade for a RB or that we really need to but I’d love to trade for Aaron jones. Underused in Green Bay but that man can run.

yeah one bad plant or jolt somewhere in your lower body can send shockwaves that spasm your lower back or get the muscles to lock and it can be agony

or even jolt the vertebrae etc.

We did get Monroe a while back, though we can’t peg our hopes on getting an OL based on that because they’re valuable and teams don’t want to give the up. I doubt we make a move for one but anything would help, we could use a G or C.

just wondering, have we ever had a rookie we drafted end up on the practice squad and become a contributor afterwards?

If we’re talking potential or desired trades, I’d trade for Gabe Jackson. He has a cap that we can absorb and he’s good. Shoot you could do a lot with him here on the team and I think it would be easier to insert a guard than a C right now

That sucks, seems like the PS is a dead end for draftees. I was hoping Jaleel Scott could become something. Ive seen him drop one pass and then IR.
It was about far more than a dropped pass, he looked LOST and totally not ready for the nfl.
