The Random Thought Thread

Thompson is absolutely a rangy ballhawk. He’s used primarily as a single high roamer and has the range to still come down from single high and shut down a run at the LOS when it bounces to the edge.

Lukas denis is rangy as well and very sound in coverage assignments
I saw a lot from denis last yr.. havent watched any of his games this yr tbh but yea he was very good from what i remember.. havent seen any coverage play from deionte thats catches my eye though. He actually reminds me of earl with how fast he gets down hill to shut down the run but again as far as cvg goes, i havent really noticed him making any plays

he'd be one of the best number 2 receivers in the league - the problem is we dont have a number 1 who's drawing double coverage - in stead after those initial weeks the defences worked out that john brown was the biggest threat not michael crabtree and so they moved the double teams and safety help towards brown's side

now he's still making plays (and would have had another bomb reception to add to his big plays all year vs the raiders if it wasnt called back on a hold) but obviously he's going to be less consistent - but he could have had 4 catches for 90 yards this week if he'd caught a couple that he dropped and didnt have the bomb called back

i agree in terms of value though - but if he does go we are going to have to find some speed again at receiver unless we truly think jordan lasley is going to develop (and he might but there are absolutely zero guarantees and signs) and even then we probably need more speed anyway

we have to go and get a young playmaking wide receiver i think as a matter of urgency this offseason - maybe john brown gets re-signed but even then im not sure that's enough

our longest contracted wr who's not a rookie is michael crabtree who's old and probably wont see the end of that contract tbh
Honestly I think Moore could step in for Brown and do nicely as the deep threat. He’s not as fast but it would save money we could put towards another playmaker. We need to use Moore on offense before his contract is up to see if we finally actually drafted a good one.

brown got that moss in him too though. if he not able to catch it in stride he still goes up and attacks the ball.. i dnt think ive ever seen that from moore... i know torrey smith couldnt do it to save his life

You don’t think you’ve ever seen that from Moore?!?!? Bro...he’s done it like 5 times this year alone. Moore has absolutely shown the ability to win jump balls.

Someone get this man some YouTube clips

I fucking love Moore so much. He’s also an amazing run blocker and that works great with lamar. He is such a big play guy I wish he would get more play. He’s my favorite ravens wr since Torrey (not at all saying he’s the best just my personal favorite)

The good side about no matter what our team does is we have 2 elite tackles. Less than 10 teams can say that and I bet less than 5 have two elite tackles both in the low 20s.

Tightend we are set. Espically with Andrews. I think hurst will still be good but Andrews is special. I need to see more out of Edwards to say anything on him but he’s cool. Snead is a very good weapon for all teams he has a ton of use.

We still have the best kicker in the nfl, and we have an elite corner in marlon. I hope Anthony and he can be a very solid duo. I know we can’t get rid of Jefferson yet but when we can I completely trust Elliot there. The dude has a ton of charter and hits HARD. I haven’t seen Tj crush Anyone that I remember. I’m tired of weddle. We got a few good years out of him and he’s smart enough to be in the right place but just lacks all athletic skills. He’s gone down fast.

I’d pay Mosley honestly because why the hell not what else can we do. The pass rush is the only thing that really
Scare us. I think a “full” rebuild would be stupid. I don’t think we should get rid of Carr or jimmy yet. Weddle and yanda and Suggs could all leave and I’d be sad but not crushed. The only reason I want Suggs to still play is so he can rack up sack numbers for his HOF case.

Also, I’m really intrested to see if Judon gets going again. He’s obviously a hot or cold player so I’m excited to see what’s up with him. Willie Henry showed talent.

Urban is also a good guy and I’m proud of him for staying healthy. He has batted some passes and been very good against the run

Moore is more likely to climb the ladder and make a retarded ass catch over 2 defenders heads than he is catching a 7 yard wide open slant/curl

We're falling into this trap agian where we play shit defenses, which our oline has success against not only because the opposition has been utter trash, but because Lamar is a different look that they haven't been able to figure out how to stop it yet. Not to mention we've been going especially TE heavy. Given that fact, and the fact that Yanda can retire any day now, yeah, we're going to need more than 3. Even if we run a lot of two TE sets, and Andrews becomes a competent blocker, the interior oline and dline is still the biggest need on the team bar none. Lamar and shitty defenses have far more to do with this run game then the interior oline. Let's not kid ourselves. When your liabilities are as bad as someone like Skura, more than 3 is needed. We need to have quality starters across the board. Which is doable. I'm not suggesting everyone needs to be an all pro.

Whatever the point is moot. My point still stands that there are several valid ways to build a team. DJ's is one, but I don't think that's the model we are going to follow
I’ve repeated it multiple times for years, the best teams always have excellent line play. It’s not just a saying, games are won and lost in the trenches.
