Jeffersons's health
I think it was his ankle. I know he tried to come back in the game for a play or two but it was just bothering him too much and he had to limp back off. I guess we will find out soon if he is practicing any this week even if it is limited.

I appreciate the actual reply to a post the absolutely did not deserve it lol.

For all that I’ve criticized Ozzie for... the past draft class has been great. Andrews has been the best of the bunch but Hurst has started to come along too, albeit very slowly but hey, progress is progress. Lamar has flashed franchise QB potential and has been better than even I anticipated(and I was a fan), Brown Jr. looks like a stud in the making. He has work to do too, he has a few costly penalties but he should’ve been starting from day one. Bozeman, Averett have flashed some starter upside. Whether they get there or not is tbd. Kenny Young should be starting. Stop giving Peanut as many snaps.

And we still don’t use any of them right.

The class could’ve been better, but you can say that for any draft. Ozzie went out on a high note draft wise.

Peanut was one of our 5 highest rated defenders last week according to pff

Great thanks for asking!

Well the actual day of sucked because I had to work, but we moved ours to Saturday and that was great! How 'bout you?

I had to work too. I celebrated in the morning. Yeah working holidays is no fun hey. Where you work?

I like hurst, still don’t like the pick.

I would’ve preferred Ridley, no question, and I doubt hurst makes me change my mind. Ridley or will Hernandez at 25 would’ve been infinitely better than hurst.

That said, I’m sure the ravens jaws were on the goddamn floor when Andrews was available that late. If they knew they would get Andrews that late I doubt they take hurst there. Either way I do love this class.

I can just picture a cartoon character with Ozzie and DeCosta having their jaws on the floor.

not just that but to have the choice of Orlando Brown and Mark Andrews at 83, take Orlando and then have Andrews still be there 3 picks later lol... unreal

i would have adored Hernandez at 25 or Ridley - i thought Hurst was fair value at 25 but i had hernandez and ridley both in the top 20 players in the draft - i had lamar at 15 on my board but there was a part of me that was hoping illogically that we'd traded back in for hernandez - he really was one of my favourite players to watch in this draft class - he was just straight up disrespectful to defenders on tape

Hindsight is 20/20 and if we knew he would be available, we would have gone a different route at 25. That being said, I agree with you. I had Ridley and Hernandez in my top 20 also. I also believe Hurst would be more involved in the game plan if he didn’t have the injury in preseason. That being said, next year we should have two really good TEs.

I actually believe the Ravens target was D.J. Moore. I believe they thought Carolina was going to draft Hurst, but that’s jmo

if im honest i imagine the ravens had 2-3 players they were happy with at 25 which is why they traded back there - DJ Moore feels like the choice if he was there but honestly they probably had 2 or 3 players they had ranked high on their board value-wise at that spot or they wouldnt have traded back again

and i agree on Hurst - he looked great early on in the preseason when Andrews looked a little absent having been coming back from injury in training camp himself - and hurst is starting to get more involved - he had 3 catches on 4 targets which were both the highest numbers of the year for him albeit for only 25 yards but he was involved in the offence despite only having 19 snaps (andrews had the same snap count i think)

looking at their stats - mark andrews has at least 1 reception in every single game of the year so far
PFF grades are not everything but (as of before the raiders game) Andrews leads all rookie tight ends in grade and Hayden Hurst would be ranked 4th if he had accrued the 150 minimum snaps

that's pretty impressive and hopefully means that hurst is ready to be a more consistent contributor - although i havent been the biggest fan so far of how we've been using him as he's come back in he looked pretty good in the 1st half vs the raiders - that dig route for a 1st down that lamar threw to him was a really nice route

Just to clarify, I agree there were a few options they would be happy with, but I thought D.J. was the top choice. I agree that Hurst seems to be on his way back. Loved the dig route as well.

I wanted Hernandez.

One thing to keep in mind is that hurst was a stellar blocker in space coming out of college, like absolutely elite in making blocks on the move and springing runs, also he had a knack for running pick routes, and he has done both, though the latter not frequently(but he’s had a good number of routes where he and another guy are going downfield and he’s just in the way and prevents a db from breaking). Hurst is being used as a complementary piece and doing pretty well at it. I expected more big plays considering the freak athlete he is, but other than that his games the past 2 weeks had a lot of what I expected, he’s sprung multiple runs with key blocks in space, and last week he had a few good hands plays to move the chains.

I don’t think Moore was our guy, if he was there’s no way we trade behind Carolina, the whole nfl knew they were enamored with him.

I liked Moore a lot but I just couldn’t be sold on him, his playbook at MD made it so hard for me to have faith in him at the next level, there was still so much I loved about his game though.

yeah he's been an excellent blocker in space since the preseason
id like to see him with the ball in space but that will come in time

Same. I wasn’t necessarily jumping for a guard at 25 considering Ridley was there, and admittedly gesicki who I had as a top 20 talent(still would be shocked if he didn’t pan out). I was disappointed with the hurst pick but I can live with it

it was no perriman where on draft night i actually went NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Marty has run so many screens to Watson and Boyle over the years I can’t understand how he has hurst and suddenly stops calling them
