The Random Thought Thread

Everyone is making that out to be a gimme and I don’t see it.

The Steelers have always managed to spiral out of control and everyone has buried the thought of them in the playoffs, and when they’re at the peak of their locker room turmoil and pathetic play, they randomly explode back onto the scene and kick the shit out of someone when everyone had written them off.

The Steelers are gonna have a pretty convincing win over one of those 2 teams, it just wouldn’t be like them to not.... the fuckin pricks.
Agreed. I do not expect the Steelers to lose 2 out of 3 at all.

We just need to win 2 out of 3. Browns don’t look like an easy win either. We just need to Steelers to lose to the Patriots and Saints and we’ll be fine.

Well, if the Ravens can drop both the Bucs and Chargers back to back; then they should be good. Other than that; I personally (as a fan) never bank on needing other teams to win or to lose because those scenarios rarely work in the Ravens favor. They have to handle their own business!

JUST WIN BABY!

I agree, it is no fun to back door your way into the playoffs anyway. We need to go win our way in.

Can anyone tell if this is going to be a defensive or offensive heavy draft in 2019 this soon?
To me it’s hard to predict what we will or should do in the draft until we see what we do in free agency - with emphasis more on who we retain than any new players we bring in.

But I think it will probably be balanced but still I think our 1 biggest need is interior o line

Yeah you can’t count on that stuff as evidenced by last weeks NE v MIA game. But I have to admit I will still watch these other games. After all the ultimate goal is the division and we still need a little help to get that.

The Pats rarely lose when you want them too then they go and lose when you are holding your nose while actually rooting for them? Ugh they better not do that 2 weeks in a row damn it.

They’re gonna lose on purpose knowing they’ll make the playoffs and it might keep us out

Well, I'm sure you're kidding, but NE really has a lot to play for. Even though they are 99% sure of winning their final two games (at home v. Buffalo and NYJ), losing today could kill their chances of getting home field and would also risk losing their bye.

If the goal would be to avoid us (which of course is crazy), it could easily work to the opposite. Losing to PIT could cost them a bye week AND create a situation where the Ravens go to Foxboro for the opening round.

I think you guys could take down the Pats.

I would LOVE that, my god. I know it won’t happen but I’ll face the pats over the chargers all day. I think if we saw the patriots in the playoffs we’d have Brady contemplating retirement as he gets crushed by the blitz and tries too hard to force plays

Well, I'll take anything that gets us into the post-season. To prefer going to Foxboro than playing at home against the Chargers would sound like insanity to any NFL fan anywhere around the league except for fans of the Ravens. I'm still not sure that's the best option (home is just almost always better than the road) but certainly if you told me we were going to win either one of them - I'd take beating the Pats. Our playoff performances in Foxboro being a thing of league-wide note is absolutely a wonderful thing. To keep that theme going would be very sweet.

Is the browns' success attributed to Baker, or the rest of the team just generally being better or both? Obviously it's both, but my question I guess, is to what extent has Baker been different than all of the qbs who've come before him
