I may be in the minority but I wouldn’t move any of our CBs next year. I would keep Jimmy, Carr, Humphrey, Young and Canady and Averett and draft another one. Keep building this secondary. We don’t have the pass rushers or safeties IMO to get weaker at CB.

Random thought, but I wished we waited to reactivate willie Henry instead of maurice canady off IR. Think he would have helped a lot more.

Yes, when we reactivated Canady we may have thought Henry wouldn’t be back in time and be 100%, plus when you come back after missing 8 weeks you tend to be a little rusty.

I’m with you 100% and have been thinking this for a few weeks now. We will have plenty of space without moving Jimmy or cutting Carr and next yr 2020 we can move on, but I believe we need to keep them together.

im not sure he was ever going to be ready to come back in season - it was floated as a possibility but definitely not certain that he'd be healthy enough

and canady is the only real true slot corner cover we have

Yeah man because worst case you could always try to convert Smith to safety as a true worst case scenario if he loses a step but these guys are playing very well and are the strength of the defense and I do not think it’s wise to disrupt what we have. I’d sooner move on from Joe (going to happen) and get cap from cutting Jefferson and/or Weddle than them.

the problem is that the AFC is so convoluted we can beat the browns and still miss the playoffs if houston loses to the jags and the steelers win out... which also isnt that far-fetched either...

like we could be any seed from 2-7 (except for the 5th seed) and all scenarios are fairly reasonable

OK first I am going to say, just beat Cleveland next week. That's the only thing that matters, but now let a man dream. Imagine this. A win next week and a Texans loss. It's perfectly plausible. This gives us the three seed and a home game against most likely indy, but possibly Tennessee. I think that moves us into the divisional round against probably the pats. Idc that that game is on the road, this team I think would steamroll new eangland. Well I guess I'll seeya all in the AFC championship game against KC in arrowhead. And all I have to say is, I dare them to beat us twice. Seeya in the super bowl my friends.... All in good fun. Just fucking beat the browns.

That would get us the 3 seed you’re correct - but it would drop the Texans to the 6 seed - we wouldn’t be playing Indy or Tennessee we’d be playing Houston in the wildcard round
