Bengals are going to finish at the bottom of the division, I am excited

I just learned that someone at my job is a Bengals fan because he saw me walk in with my Ravens hat today. He said that he was rooting for us because of Lamar though so I held my tongue....lol

If the chargers showed something and came up short, I’d agree, but the chargers had no answer for our defense, rivers couldn’t pick on ANY of our dbs, they couldn’t run the ball a lick, they gave up pressure, their defense couldn’t stop the run, and aside from Crabtree dropping a TD and a first down that hit him firmly in the hands, they couldn’t stop the pass either. Nothing happened in that game that they could look at the tape and say that 2 weeks from now we can adjust here and win the game. If we see the chargers again it’ll be in Baltimore, and what we saw from them is what we should get. Also wtf is this I keep hearing about refs? This game wasn’t egregiously miscalled by the refs, there was no “giving” the game to the ravens and idk why I’m seeing that from people.
I don't know what people are saying it, other than LAC fans or Ravens haters.

They did have one bad call the OPI early on Allen. Maybe some would whine for roughing when Z smacked the crap out of Rivers, but thankfully the refs didn't automatically throw a flag because a legal hit was executed hard and they didn't bite on RIvers dramatics and flopping his helmet off as if it was a part of the play.

There may be the perception that they were cheated because they had a lot of important plays called back. The vast majority of penalties I saw were called on plays where the Chargers were flat out beat (mainly on the front line) and grabbed and held. That's not getting cheated. That's not even making "mental mistakes". That's simply called getting worked.

If we do somehow get a first round bye then I would use that time to work on Lamar. I’m talking serious reps because if you work on his throwing during that bye maybe you can correct some of these issues for a serious run. All he needs to do is work on stopping these fumbles and on a few tweaks with his form to make an impact right now. The rest do it in the off-season.

If we take care of the Browns the way we should I like our chances at home in the first round against any team.

Speaking of whining about the refs:

Like having a call go against you has never happened to anyone else ... I know it is hard to wrap your head around feeling like your getting cheated, when it is normally your opponent that's getting cheated.

No doubt, that PI early in the game was damaging and as atrocious a call as you will see. However, fans (and in this case, players) can let that one bad call spill into the rest of the game where every flag that gets thrown thereafter adds to the sense of getting jobbed. The PI called on him late in the game (which I guess he's counting in his tally) was absolutely a major hold, followed by PI ... so take your pick.

That's why the headline reads Hayden pissed about calls (plural). Sob.

You let a bad call in the 1st Quarter dictate your mindset. You had other opportunities and squandered them. That's why you lost. Sorry.

Screw Haden and the squealers. They’ve benefited from poor officiating forever, so much so it has often looked much like a bias in their favor. Let him go find someone on the North Side that wants to listen to that crap. lol

Lol Steelers complaining about penalties? I saw some bogus penalties called on the Saints too. That’s some pretty one-sides opinion because there’s plenty of things you could say affected NO. I mean I even saw PIT get away with some penalties even in this game. Nobody wanna hear this

The 2nd seed is a long shot, but it is available if the Jags win a road game vs. the Texans and more far fetched yet - the Jets win a road game vs. the Pats. That's crazy to imagine, but we can dare to dream.

I had to mention it, because you really can't look back ... but just to illustrate how tight the conference is in the playoff picture, a win at KC would have clinched the division and a win would get us the #2 seed.

Any of those losses where we should’ve won would have given us the spot and it is hard to swallow right now. I think #2 is a long shot too just because I can’t see NE losing but man I didn’t expect NE to lose to PIT and I didn’t expect NO to almost lose at home vs PIT either. Don’t crush my dreams lol.

And I’m glad you brought this up because I was thinking this but this is why I think we decided to keep John. Looking at the entire NFL, everything is very narrow and parity is real this year. Wins are also narrow and I honestly think if you see it that way I think that’s what saved John as well as Lamar. Even Belichick has struggled lately.

Tbh, i dont think we beat chargers again if we played them in offs. All those penalties and them getting all those offense possessions without putting up any points wont happen again, im sure of it. i do think we can beat anyteam but i doubt it will happen.
But you can say exactly the same about us - for all the domination in the first half, we could have realistically been up 21-0 at one point instead of just 3-0.

What might The ravens run from this formation? I have a few notions and I think we'll need to. ( when opting to throw the football)

They hold every game and rarely get called for it. Fuck 'em!

That opi on Allen wasn’t a bad call, it could’ve went either way but you can’t really say it was a BAD call. Not much difference between that opi and crabs, both could’ve went either way

Play fake and seam/post to the TE.

Play fake roll out right, deep post to Moore, if that’s covered have lamar cheat to the LOS by the flat, pull the defenders in, hit the TE on a deep flat

All im saying is that charger players would and will not cause that many penalties again if we played in offs. They shut our run game down 2nd half yet we were still trying to run on 2nd and long.. in order for us to win in offs, our offense needs to be 3x better than what it was Sat. Id rather play patriots than chargers again.

You think the Chargers couldn’t stop the run? They did a better job than anyone against us has since Lamar took over. I think they did a good job.
They did a better job than anyone, and that’s a very relative statement, they still got gashed every which way for huge chunks.

And what they slowed down in the run, they paid for in the passing game.
