I want that safety from Bama so bad but I know we need line help. Are there any dominate linemen who are projected in (hopefully) the 20s?
I like him.. havent seen him in cvg though so idk.. he plays fast af like earl thomas. I love that safety from virgina tech though, thornhill... he pretty good also

For those who love to analyze ... how is it that our defense rebounded from their dip mid-season? I know our offense keeping them fresh by dominating TOP is a real factor, but in those games where we struggled a bit, teams were short passing us and working the middle of the field with TEs and RBs and getting us on our heels.

Aside from some early play by Kelce, I just haven't seen this happening. I can't imagine that teams have just not bothered to realize that might be the way to attack us. So how has it been that this weakness has seemingly disappeared?

Time of possession is important but the defence also came back off the bye fresh and healthy and have in combination with the TOP been able to stay fresh

That leads us to get into positive situations on 1st down which stops teams from playing the hurry up and no huddle stuff that would take away our substitution advantage

And because of Michael pierce and Brandon Williams it’s really hard for offences to win on first down without throwing the football which naturally brings in to play our corners which might be the best position group on our team

Add to that that CJ is healthy and that helps to explain the reduction in RB + TE production

I question whether its a TOP because the pass rush has done the same thing 3 weeks in a row, suck for 2.5-3 quarters then become gods at the end of the game. I don't get how the offense gets worn down not being on the field, or if its exhaustion why they aren't more dominant sooner

Right but the defence stays fresh at the end of the game because they’ve been on the field less because we’ve won TOP so they’re able to win at the end of the game

Partly that’s because we also put teams in bad positions by building a lead and winning on first down which forces more throwing which leads to more sack opportunities

And the OL don’t get to substitute while we have a very deep front 7 with only 1 guy who plays 100% of the snaps in that group (CJ)

And not to mention Harbs legit gave the game ball to Steve Saunders last week which would suggest conditioning has something to do with it

Tyus bowser to finish the year with half a sack.. It scares me knowing wink was the linebackers coach (aka he knows a lot about him) and still refuses to give him a lot of snaps..

That's because it's mostly clear by now that Bowser isn't and won't be consistent pass rusher in pros. He's not a good fit on our D.
Yeah. If we gave the dude to Mike Zimmer he'd probably become a pro bowler. He's a prototypical SAM backer and we don't use him to his strengths at all. He's not a bust, he's a classic Harbaugh square peg in round hole type(see Paul Kruger's second year where we tried moving him to DE, moving Ngata to NT, playing Webb at slot CB rather than a third safety last season, desperation my ass we could've signed someone, trying to fit Oher in at LT even though it was clear he couldn't hack it there, I could go on and on and on). Hell even OZZIE said he should be a SAM at the pro level. It's not like the SAM backer is unimportant, it's actually kind of essential for any 4-3 unit. Send him to a 4-3 team desperate for a SAM backer and watch him blossom.

I don't care if postseason happens anyways, can we please still get rid of Harbaugh? No.... FUCK

I wonder about Mosley because he’s struggled even when healthy I thought so I wonder what more there is to this. I don’t think it’s just health. I’m glad to see him doing better especially when you consider the offenses we faced lately

I think Bowser and Correa were Pees picks.

i dont know that he has struggled so much when healthy - he gets a lot of criticism because when he's near a play it looks like he's been beaten and because he's the ILB he's often near the play

but no one notices when he picks up a guy coming across his zone and erases them as an option in the passing game, or when he completely disrupts a wr's route when the corner's been rubbed and allows the corner to regain position

he's not flawless by any means but when healthy he's so cerebral and long that he's difficult to pick on and helps other parts of the defence in the passing game too

I wouldn’t really ever blame Mosley for a WR route anyway and if/when he makes a play and does a good job on those I think I’d give him credit more than not. No LB can cover a WR consistently. He’s good in zone and seems to be back to being that player but what frustrates me is when he has to man on a TE or RB and even sometimes in zone he struggles with this. He varies a lot in coverage and that’s my big gripe with him. He’s the Joe Flacco of LBs in coverage where he’ll look elite sometimes, very bad sometimes, and then average at other times. I agree his mind is something remarkable and all but damn I wish he was more consistent in coverage because it’s hard to predict what you’ll get when you are inconsistent. If he was bad then you could figure that out but that’s not completely the case
