Why not just go after him and AB now?

If the Jags are willing to trade him then sure, but I don't think they would do that unless he seriously pissed off their FO. If/when he hits FA though then I hope we make a serious run at him because he'd be worth the money.

As for AB, I think he would be wasted in our offense and would probably start complaining after a few games of not getting the ball enough. He causes too much drama and isn't really worth it IMO.

AB is a total waste of cap space for the Ravens and JR won't come cheap on either end.

Uh, I was just being sarcastic. Don't want them.

And our locker room would go into the shitter. Jacksonville pound for pound has a more talented defense than us player wise and then they got cocky.

I'm not so sure that it would because Harbs' seems to have good control of the locker room and I don't think he'd allow them to get complacent either. Ramsey still played well this past season, but the rest of that defense was unmotivated. That seems like poor coaching to me above anything else.

This is pretty interesting:

Ravens Lose National Scout to Green Bay Packers

DeCosta has another new, yet expected, item for his to-do list, as he will look to make a key hire (or promotion) within his scouting staff.

Milt Hendrickson has left his position as the Ravens’ national scout to join the Green Bay Packers as their director of football operations, per The Athletic’s Michael Cohen.

nothing special about that yet - just another internal promotion probably... this is the interesting morsel:

According to long-time Packers reporter Bob McGinn, the Packers wanted to hire Hendrickson last May, but Ozzie Newsome denied the team’s request to interview. Now with DeCosta at the helm, the move has reportedly been allowed to go through.

that's 2 big pieces in the Front Office leaving their posts - obviously Oz is still in the building but this may look more dramatically different than some of us were expecting

of course i may well be reading too much into this

Let's hope DeCosta saw that drop rate graphics, too.

Bisciotti said at last year's end of season presser that they want/plan to hire more experienced scouts. Do you know by chance if they hired any new scouts?

Just by acquiring Ramsey? One guy is going to kill the locker room with a huge veteran presence especially if Weddle is retained? I don't think so. This is the superstar we've been waiting for for quite a while. He plays and acts like a Raven. Literally the perfect fit if we cut Jimmy.

I mean between his locker room antics and the fact that he is probably at least 18-20m per year (expect him to blow away previous deals) and that he will cost at least a 1st and you have a resounding nope.

I doubt they'll get a 1st for him, and I'd rather pay him than Mosley and draft White. It's not going to happen, but I'm one of his biggest fans.

Lesser players than Ramsay cost a 1st to pry away right now and while a top 5 CB is better than a top 5 ILB, it costs 10m per year more AND you have no 1st AND while Young looked really good early on are you sure he is ready to be a 3 down starter.

Some notes from Harbs end of season presser - apologies for them being a bit of a mess (one of them i found zrebiec had a quote so i copied that in too):

  • In case there was any doubt - pretty clear that Harbs was the guy who decided to elevate Roman
  • Harbaugh on moving Bobby Engram from WR coach to TEs coach "It’s going to add to our TE room the development of the pass game. And that’s the idea there. It’s also going to expand Bobby, who’s going to be an OC, he’s going to be a head coach in this league without question."
  • Looking to add someone new at WR and RB coach - maybe looking also to fill the position that marty would have had if he’d stayed (passing game coordinator type role) - of particular mention - apparently the wr coach is priority 1 and then he’ll find the RB coach
  • LOL - Lamar has already said he’s going to be working with his receivers through the offseason and has seemingly already been proactive about working on his passing game in the offseason even before he comes back to the ravens
  • Harbs says our priorities are quite obvious - that we won’t pass up the opportunity to improve every position but that we evidently have some priority positions we’d like to upgrade more urgently - says he’d rather we didn’t have to replace a lot of players and work really hard just to stay the same
  • That Lamar quite clearly made the defence better
  • We want to open up the big plays in the offence
  • Harbs says that Lamar may well be a boon to free agent signings and that certainly all our free agent wrs want to stay and probably partly because of him (while their production may go down i could certainly foresee some receivers thinking that the media frenzy around lamar would draw more attention to any good play by a receiver)
  • Harbs specifically mentioned Tyrod and RGIII as potential guys to come in (albeit with the proviso that they obviously have no idea what tyrod wants to do)

I watched parts of the presser live. I added some interesting points.
  • They are looking to find a WR coach externally. It sounded as if they have already found a rb coach or they will promote from within.
  • I can't remember who asked Harbaugh but they adressed the chargers game aswell, specifically about Stanley's feet. Harbaugh admited they were simply outcoached and outplayed. But it helped them 'seeing a defense drastically adjust to their offense' it will help them moving forward.
  • Another important point: They will build a new offense and special teams from the ground up like they did last season with the defense.
