anyone know why we picked hollywood over deebo? Im excited about hollywood but i just thought samuel was the best thing smoking at every aspect tbh

Probably speed? Oh yea speed. Did I mention speed?

Samuel has amazing potential but Hollywood is already one of the fastest players in the league and can run the full route tree. The only thing that could hold Brown back is Lamar’s ability to get him the ball. I don’t think that will be a problem.
 
Hollywood has rare elite speed that opens up the field for the offense, its a good conpliment to our TEs. Hes also better route runner than Deebo, my top 3 were AJ Brown, Hollywood then Deebo.

because hollywood was the best receiver in the draft... and a really good fit for the apparent direction of our offence
i like deebo and thought he was maybe the 2nd or 3rd receiver in the draft but the playmaking ability and ability to create space that hollywood has as well as good route running trumps anything that any other wr in the class had

Ceiling. Deebo was a player I really enjoyed watching and I thought extremely high of him, but you have good receivers, and then you have good receivers with RARE traits.

Something like turning into a RB after the catch or having stupidly quick route breaks is cool and all, but one thing deebo can’t do is blow a game wide open if a single defender takes one stutter step. With Hollywood, a false step by the deep safety and you might have a TD, he’s so fast that a player 20 yards away from him taking one bad step at the snap might actually be too much for a defense to overcome. His speed is truly game changing, if he’s healthy and Lamar is able to get him the ball, he will scare the shit out of defenders. Deebo just doesn’t have the game breaking rare traits

Thats crazy cause i think he does. He isnt as fast as hollywood but def has playmaking ability for sure

He does have playmaking ability for sure, don’t get me wrong I REALLY liked him as a prospect and I’ve been on his wagon for years. But he just isn’t “rare” like Hollywood is.
