Wow - didn't realize how much the 9rs almost fumbled away that game. Thankfully, at the end the Steelers returned the favor.

In this small sample, Rudolph didn't look totally dreadful - not good, but not flat out awful. Not much is going to be expected of him, so it will be interesting to see how the Steelers judge him after all is said and done. There are 4 options:

1) He looks so good, they don't need Ben back (that seems to be a serious longshot)
2) He looks good enough to consider to be their QB of the future, but they'll keep Ben for next year and not seek to draft Ben's replacement
3) He looks ok - they keep him around next year but seek to draft their QB of the future in 2021 draft
4) Totally give up on him and cut him lose after this season and draft their QB of the future in the 2020 draft
In the 2020 draft they don't have first round pick, will be a long shot finding future franchise guy later.

I watched that game, and I watched his Seahawks film, and yes he looks pretty damn bad. He’s been WILDLY inaccurate, he throws some balls so far off the mark it’s insane, and I’m not talking about failing to lead or hit guys in stride, I’m talking about being 2-3 yards to either side on comebacks, throwing well blocked screens in the dirt, etc. my Steelers fan wife was hyping him up so hard saying “have you watched his college highlights?!?! He’s so good!” I’m like uhhh... you literally give me hell for ignoring you to watch college film, and he came out in 2018 when we were looking for QBs, do you really think I haven’t watched him? Lmao. And he’s doing exactly what I saw in college, too much hangtime, not enough velocity, and wildly inaccurate.

There is a lot to like though, his quick feet and movement in the pocket is great, and he climbs the pocket to deliver the ball incredibly well

How could I forget? Maybe its because it was such a dumb move for the Steelers to trade their 2020 first rounder AFTER Ben went down that I forgot it happened lol.

Yeah - option 4 is pretty much off the table. They may still need to find their QB of the future if Rudoph fails but it won't be until the 2021 draft.

Rudolph really struggled to move the ball at all - their only points in the first half came on short fields and still were field goals - a big chunk of their air yardage and points came on one play from Juju which included about 40 yards after Juju broke a tackle

im not writing rudolph off but he's not shown me anything yet

And those two FGs came as a result of 4 Niners' turnovers

Watching the NFL top 100 plays. 2 observations. 1 I dont think mile high miracle is there which is bs. 2 I dont think we get Boldin if they dont lose that SB. Funny how things work out.

I read somewhere yesterday - for the entire game, Steelers had those two long_ish passes, both turned into TDs and just one more (3y) that went more than a yard over the scrimmage line.

I am not sure whether that kind of disaster should be contributed solely to Rudolph, OC and play calls are to blame at least that much, too.

Ravens are currently ranked No. 27 in pass defense, which is far far removed from last season's No. 5 ranking. They have also allowed consecutive 300-yard passers for the first time since 2015

These numbers will balance out. Communication better improve. Sick of these big plays across a wide open middle of the field.

Hold the fuck on. I wanted to say that Kyler had a big game but Panthers held him to 173 on 43 attempts. Nevermind, we suck.

This happens every time Jimmy goes down and yet it keeps shocking people.

Is it a shocker after all these years how we get aired out when some, I won't say his name, goes down with an injury?

Jimmy Smith

I’ll tell you what would really be a shocker is getting 2 consecutive seasons out of him without missing games due to injury. He’s good, but damn!

Yep. They also sacked Kyler 8 times, so our pass rush sucks as well.
We need to do a shitload of balancing out.

Just my opinion, but I really feel like it has more to do with our secondary. People are running wide open. No one can cover outside of Earl and Marlon. AA, Carr and everyone else is getting straight up abused. Can’t wait for Jimmy to get back

Goes hand in hand - better pressure would cause less time for WRs to get open.

Nfls 100 greatest plays of all time, no mile high miracle, no 4th and 29, no bomb to jacoby in the super bowl, no ray Lewis stealing Eddie George’s soul in the playoffs, but a lot of plays that most certainly can’t rival any of them. The only ravens play was Ed reeds record breaking pick six vs the eagles. The dislike for the ravens is so real.
