The Random Thought Thread

We played Hou, bills, pats, Ne and kc. Im saying in playoffs, thats gonna be twice once we play them. Not saying its not possible but im not expecting blowouts again 2nd time around. Some people just have us in SB already without factoring in anything other than us beating in reg season.

Yeah I'm really uncomfortable with people talking as if making the SB is a given.

there's a high possibility we will have played every single playoff team in the AFC and a third of the playoff teams in the NFC in the regular season

if we expect to win the division every year for a while then we're going to have to expect to play the best teams in the AFC twice every year if we want to win a superbowl

we havent really played any team twice yet since this new offence was installed except the bengals who are a garbage fire but i dont see anything intrinsic in facing us twice that will really impact things much
Yes to all of this. Beating the best teams in the regular season doesn’t make it harder to beat them again the playoffs. Beating the likes of Hou, NE, Sea, LA, SF, etc. just means you’re a bad mfer and you will see anyone in the playoffs and it won’t faze you a bit.

I think the whole “it’s so hard to beat the same team twice” cliche is really stale. How many times have the Steelers beaten us multiple times including playoffs? Patriots? Colts? How many times have we beaten teams twice including playoffs back when we had just above average teams? Didn’t we have to do it to KC one year and Houston the next? Definitely did it to Pit in 2014.

i think the only way it has any credence is in the fact that teams are always surprised after taking on lamar the first time just because he's even faster and more powerful in person etc. and obviously while it may not be easier to stop it's less surprising the second time - not sure how much that helps but that would be the most benefit a team gets - that and understanding more what they're facing mid-week with their sub-par scout-team qb

49ers using richie james is a bit of a joke

Yes please use a WR to simulate Lamar. Can’t wait til they learn the difference between a QBs pocket presence and a WRs lololol

We never beat putt 3x in one year from what i can remember but they def have beaten us 3x in one season. Look what happened last year to us with chargers.. that was the easiest money ive made. To beat a team once in offs and in playoffs is actually more difficult and thats a fact. Longer preparations ( bye weeks), HFA, experience takes place, discipline from players and not to mention both teams can go back and watch from last game to see what and why their play calling did and didnt work out.

Theyre prolly just using him as a runner. Whatever happened to braxton miller? Is he still in the nfl? I wonder if any playoff teams will try him out

right but at the moment we're likely getting a bye week before we play anyone in the playoffs

lets not forget, we had 3 turnovers in the first half. If we have one less turnover, we most likely win that game. Hell we basically needed one quarter to make it a ball game.

Saying we have never beaten a team three times in the past doesn't matter anymore. History is only 18 games old now. Anytime before that is with Flacco, etc...

Im not saying it matters because it dont at all. All im saying is that its difficult to beat a team 2x( div teams not included)

now I agree with your statement, but I also believe having Lamar may simplify beating teams two times. Hopefully we shall see.

Yea i agree with the lamar thing and thats my problem.. having lamar makes me go against all the things i usually factor in when im betting lol. Watched Rams game last night since i missed it and i think it proved what ive been thinking... we are deadly when we get in 5 wide. Not only that our plays and formations are so mixed up thats its hard to predict us.... I think the best thing a team can do is just get us in obvious passing downs and hope we dont get it

They have to stop this run to get us to obvious passing down. And that so far worked to the tune of 200+ rush yards a game.

That’s all a misconception honestly, the thing that happens is weaker teams beat better teams on fluke deals and when shit gets real in the playoffs, the better teams pull through.

This year, we are the better team, we aren’t beating better teams on flukey shit, were thoroughly dominating everyone because were genuinely the best team.

I think Flacco is lingering in your head lol
