The Random Thought Thread

I still think the most dangerous version of our offense is when we spread them out and leave Lamar by himself in the backfield.
No, it’s dangerous depending on the defense, if we’re facing an athletic front with a secondary that can man cover and they can pressure Lamar then it’s pretty weak, we saw it vs the bills, niners, and Steelers, the best counter, for me, is the looming threat of the read option or at least a screen, our receivers still don’t break open vs man consistently and our biggest advantage is forcing sound disciplined defense, you’re at a disadvantage when you take that away and you don’t have the people to capitalize.

Keep a rb in the backfield and have a TE in the slot and move the TE post snap as if you’re setting up a screen, make them move lateral to address that threat and slow down the pass rush, you now have the option of a screen, a TE in position to block for a scramble, or a clean pocket because you forced the rush to slow down.

I just feel like this offenses biggest advantage is forcing discipline, thought, and hesitation, and emptying the backfield really takes away from that

No way we Ravens fans want to see NE beat Buffalo this weekend, right? Of course we are physically incapable of rooting for that bunch except when it clearly impacts us in a positive way.

However a Buffalo win does not get them the division. All a Buffalo win does is drop NE from getting a bye and gives it to KC. KC is arguably the biggest threat to our path to the super bowl.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I'd rather see KC play an extra game. Hate rooting for the Pats in any situation, but hopefully they can hold onto that number two seed instead of KC.

Lookin for shirts last minute for my friends... lol. Not likely to get anything before the big day, yet there are some gems out there. Loved this one. More for display than wearing. :)

at this point its probably better for us if the pats get the 2 seed yes - KC having to go into foxborough again would be useful for our superbowl chances - of course the chiefs probably win that game again - they are clearly the 2nd best team in the AFC right now

Well, I would say that Belichek probably doesn't want to see a Chefs team with Suggs on edge with the weaknesses the Pats already have. But I would far rather the Pats beat the Chefs and have the Pats come into MnT than the Bills. So somewhere in there we have to wish that the others deliver us the Texicans/Titans/Steelers in whatever scenario's exist. I feel like we beat all of those teams going away. The Chefs and the Bills are the two most worrisome teams - - - to me...

I think Tennessee May very well be the 2nd best. I know it sounds crazy at first but you have to think about it. they did beat the chiefs head to head, and they’re built to beat the chiefs if they played again, they have a first round qb who played poorly for the worst franchise in football, and that team went into complete tank mode when he left and looked the part, so he may be better than we think with a competent team. Derrick Henry is currently out of this world, good receivers, excellent ravens-like defense where they’re very fundamental and physical with talent everywhere but edge rush.

I’m scared of the chiefs really only because we’re 0-2 against them and scared they have our number. But when I look at afc opponents I really worry about Tennessee.

at this point tennessee are a massive longshot to make the playoffs - they've got to beat both the saints and texans to have a chance really or hope the steelers have a shocker against the jets

Mahomes wasn't really healthy that game. Yes it was a win, but I'm not sure it would have been a win if he was indeed healthy. I believe the Chiefs are the biggest threat, but feel we will beat them also. The Pats will also step it up in the Playoffs.

TN path to the playoffs is not a massive long shot. At least not as I understand it. I do think their odds are less than 50-50 but not s long shot

If PIT splits their last 2 TN gets in if they beat HOU. It doesn’t really matter what TN foes with NO. They must win the AFC matchup for the tie breaker with the Steelers. If they beat HOU they win over PIT by strength of victory.

Problem is TN wasn’t able to beat HOU on their home turf so naturally it seems harder to do that on the road.

nba and nfl are similar.. nba is more simplier because you can usually guess witch 2-3 teams will be in finals.. nfl, its usually only out of 4 teams from start to finish.
