Goddamn... we better make a run right goddamn now because the way this team has been trending with injuries I’m not sure we make the playoffs with that schedule
Well, maybe. A bit premature to discuss anything related to next season, but based on what I see now...

Why is the NFC North tough? I have no expectations for Minnesota or Detroit next year, and I think Chicago is still a fraud right now and it sounds like they're going to be retaining Nagy and probably even Trubisky, which is good news for, well, everyone else.

I have no fears playing the Broncos or Raiders either. I don't see either being significantly better. Chargers desperately need a change in leadership but have some talent.

I don't even know if Pittsburgh will be any good next year, nor do I know if the Colts will be any good next year. If they're not changing QBs, I have very high levels of concept that position will only get weaker.

I wouldn't say I'm writing him off. But its also bizarre when a coaching staff goes quarter-by-quarter with a franchise QB that they were certain wasn't ready week 1, but somehow knew was ready by like week 8 or whenever it was they put him in.

And at the first sign of poor performance or bad play, they put in a backup and somehow the offense changes significantly.

So if its play calling, where they're not designing plays for him to be aggressive and attack down field, and that's where the offense is at its best, then why is he out there at all? This is where, as many good things that Brian Flores has done this year, he loses me.

that's a fair take - i only can say in response that there are a lot of people in the national media and in and around that organisation who are explicitly saying that Flores is managing that QB situation well

Media will always claim a team/coach manages a situation well if they win.

Bens arm is clearly not healthy, he is old as fuck, at bare minimum Ben needs an entire week of rest to get his arm back, at this point in his career he doesn’t need reps. He’s not like a Lamar Jackson or josh Allen who are still getting their heads in the nfl and developing technique.

I think the ravens showed last year that a young upstart team who dominated the regular season shouldn’t be resting week 17 if you can help it.
we not only rested them week 17, but also had a bye week.

just started looking at the schedule for next year (because this discussion made me look lol)

and it looks like we've got the NFC North

and our prospective 1-game in the NFC is gonna be against either the Rams or Cardinals

we've got the AFC West

then we'll be away at the Dolphins and home against either the Titans or Colts

looks like a pretty tough schedule to me lol
how do you know we would be away vs the Dolphins and home vs. the Titans/Colts. I understand that we would be playing them, but I don't understand how you know if they are away / home.

I think its nearly impossible to conjure up an argument where you changing QBs mid-game on a sometimes weekly basis qualifies as "managing the situation well".

I think the basis for thinking that way is largely predicated on their W/L record, which oftentimes, really has nothing to do with the performance of the QB.

it's locked in already i think - we know the home and away for the whole schedule in 2021 already i think

think 2022 is locked in already too in terms of home and away

2021 is:

Home:
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers
Kansas City Chiefs
Los Angeles Chargers
Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings
AFC South = Titans or Colts

Away:https://fbschedules.com/nfl/afc-east/
AFC East = Dolphins
Chicago Bears
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Detroit Lions
Pittsburgh Steelers
Las Vegas Raiders
Denver Broncos

then not sure whether the Cardinals or Rams would be home or away yet

Vikings have a decent team. Hunter is hurt, micheal pierce opt out. their dline consist of
Players similar to our practice squad cbs that be on the field. They drafted cbs who had no offseason and was thrown into the fire.. they arent a bad team by anymeans.. bears arent push overs at all.. now lions just suck. Yes their whole team hurt, but i dnt think it wouldve changed much

All true unless we lose and Cleveland wins this weekend. In that case, we play Patriots and Texans next year. If we win, no matter what Cleveland does, they'll have Patriots and Texans next year.

In an unrelated note, I always find it funny when someone complains about their team's schedule, as if the NFL is trying to screw their particular team. (Playing KC on the road in consecutive years would be a good example.) If 32 teams and 16 games remained constant, you could know 14 of 16 opponents a thousand years in advance - and know the final two to within 8 teams. There's no mystery at all about it.
The 17th game will, I assume, again be pretty predictable down to 4 or so teams.

once we know the rotation for the new 17th game (what order it goes through the different divisions) we'll know as much about that game moving forwards as we do already about the in-conference games against same-place finishers

which as you say means we could hypothetically work out what the schedule would be in 1000 years time with only 3 unknown opponents (narrowed down to 1 in 4 teams for each)

I'd agree with this. The Vikings defense is no slouch and will be better next year and the Bears D is also good. I wouldn't be surprised to see Robinson gone on the offense though.

lol before the steelers game again hahahahaha

Steelers are going to be rippin'. Browns fans were going off on us when we were having our covid issues, well they lost some pretty key players last week and lost an important game because of it. They may have some difficulty this week as well even with Rudolph playing. I'm not even sure if the WR's will be able to come back by then.

was watching some 2016 and 2017 film lol (dont ask me why) - and CJ Mosley is unreal - way too many people just did not understand what they were watching while he was here

and that's before we even built the defence around him and weddle and sizzle in 2018

Mosley was great it was just something be lacked that i didnt like. I feel we wanted him to be more of an eric kendricks type. Took a while for kendricks to get there but he figured it out.
